Wonder what this is about? Retirement?
There's a small link at the top of Green Bay's official site.

Okay, I think this is nothing. It just struck me as odd that he'd hold a press conference on a Wednesday afternoon in the middle of training camp. After watching Favre get pummelled on the weekend and also seeing that his wideouts don't appear to be too stellar, I thought perhaps Brett might be having second thoughts about coming back.
edit: conferance... conference. Why do I always insist on proving my less than stellar spelling acumen by making mistakes in the thread's header? (which of course I can't edit)

No I don't think it is. Apparently Favre holds a press conference every Wednesday. Some Minnesota radio station heard about the presser, and not being aware of his regular scheduled conferences, started to speculate on the reasoning behind it. Rumors spread like wildfire (I heard it on another message board) and I gobbled it up ... hook, line and sinker.
I debated deleting the thread but what the heck, it's a slow Wednesday in August. If there's no news... hell I'll just make some up )

profootballtalk.com is possibly the worst site ever. they always print false reports, and then try to cover it up. for example, a couple of weeks ago they said brodick bunkley was arested, then they found out it wasn't him, and they wrote this apology to his family. they said the real guy who got aressted, his last name sounded like bunkley. i just read that this press conference is something the packers hold every week, no big deal. that site is retarded, i don't read anything anymore from there.
This is just like that casino/golf tournament Favre press conference buildup in the offseason, which got billed as a "major announcement" and was just Favre talking about the tournament. (That was pretty funny, how all the radio/TV stations got duped into showing up. Hah!)
I heard at least a week ago about Favre doing this "I'm only speaking to the press once a week" thing.

If you see John Madden doubled over in tears, you know Brett is retiring.

Working insane hours and getting "computered out."
Just meant, if I managed to hear it catching maybe 30 minutes of NFL Network a day and reading a few online papers, I'm surprised this reporter from Minnesota hadn't heard it.
