Last year at week 4, someone at ESPN did an article about the first four weeks of the season, and looking at our schedule for this season, I really think our results from those four weeks will tell us a lot about what's in store. We've got a hard schedule this year, and if we want success, we need to be able to win games that we're in.

I expect/hope we win at least two games in the first four. If we do, I think we've got a good shot at breaking even. If we come out strong and win three, which I think is at least possible, I think we could get enough momentum going to get nine wins. The problem is that right after this we have indy, at DC, then the bye to cool us off if we happen to come out hot. If we only win one game in the first four, it's going to be a long season, like the last two. We have to step up early and show that we can be competitive if we want to have any chance at improvement.

Any expectations/predictions/responses?

I think the season opener is key. We'll know a lot about our run defense by the end of the second game. Game three is going to be tough but winning at home against Dallas is possible.

I'm thinking 2-4 going into the bye.

These first 4 are very important and here is how its shakes out.

Week 1 vs Jets - We just win this game its the opener and at home.

Week 2 @ Chargers - They opened at the Raiders on Monday night. Coming off a short week they take us for granted and are looking forward to next weeks bye. We come back home with a win.

Week 3 @ Dolphins - They are coming off a cake walk win at home against Buffalo, they don't look past us because Houston is coming. We lose a close one on the road.

Week 4 vs Dallas - Coming off a bye Dallas can't shake off the rust. They have Philadelphia coming the next week and we go up early and finally learn how to win.

3-1

I've got that same feeling.

Have we ever won on the West Coast? I don't see us beating the Chargers. I think it is more likely that we beat teh Dolphins. Not that it is going to happen but more likely. I see Dallas not fun though coming off their bye week.

Everything is resting on an unproven QB. A QB being used as a 'plug' until our new QB is ready. We can't expect much from the offense.
Remember last years announcement that our #1 receiver was Bennett. We knew deep down that we were in deep do-do. Even with McNair as the QB!
Rumors that Young will be installed inside the Redzone are promising, IF it happens.

1-4 realistically.

We beat the Jets

Charger's role over us considering the Titans as a must win game to prove they are a playoff team.

Fin make it a close one but we still do not pull it out because we do not have veteran leadership at QB to get us much needed points in the 4th quarter.

Dallas smokes us on there way to the NFC title.

I'll take it even further to say ....

Indi shows us not respect at takes us in Indi. probably by 14

Washington is where I hope we start to make our turn around. Still struggling with the QB situation I think Washington takes a dump and blows this game. Eventually being used as this years "excuse" why they did not make the playoffs.

takes us to 2-5 before the break.

I'd have to agree with 1-4 to start the season. I really don't know how we're going to win very many games unless somebody steps up and starts to make big plays. Not to say it can't happen, i'm just tired of being overly optimistic. I would think Defensively we're going to be much improved but offensively we're right back in the crapper. It's really hard to tell but I'm not expecting to much...

i think bennett will play much better this year for two reasons..

1. david givens gives us a viable option across from bennett.
2. the volek factor. volek has a much better connection with bennett than mcnair ever had. drew bennett is volek's derrick mason.

If Volek lasts past the first game.... As a four game barameter, I don't think Volek will last four games before missing time. Not to mention, he'll be on a short rope this year with Young on his tale. I say start Young. Whats the difference?? Does anyone really expect Billy Volek to take us very far?

Just like Custer had a good feeling about Little Big Horn...

I think my point has been missed by most. The schedule is not what it seems. Good teams get upset all the time because of "trap" games.

5th game @ Colts - Jets, Titans, Bye
6th game @ Redskins - Giants, Titans, Colts
7th game vs Texans - Jags, Titans, Giants
8th game @ Jags - Eagles, Titans, Houston
9th game vs sh*tbirds - Bengals, Titans, Falcons
10th game @ Eagles - Redskins, Titans, Colts
11th game vs Giants - Jags, Titans, Cowboys
12th game vs Colts, Eagles, Titans, Jags
13th game @ Texans - Raiders, Titans, Patriots
14th game vs Jags - Colts, Titans, Patriots
15th game @ Bills - Dolphins, Titans, Sh*tbirds
16th game vs Patriots - if New Engaland needs this game they win.

Game 1: The New York Jets:
I think we're all in agreement we walk away from this one with a strong win out of the gate. A rusty Pennington, an aging C-mart, and no Kevin Mawae mean our defense gets some confidance early. Pacman runs one back. A kick or a pick. Three team sacks.

Game 2: The Chargers: Our defense shuts down the run to put the game in Rivers' hands. Him and Gates have no chemistry. Pacman runs another one back. A kick or a pick. Vanden Bosch introduces Rivers to the NFL. We win.

Game 3: The Miami Dolphins: Culpeppers lost a step and won't get it back till week 6. The pass isn't dominant but Ronnie Brown proves he don't need no Ricky to carry the run. Volek could definitly get taken out of the season in this one. Jason Taylor could be the man to do it. We lose and a bit of air leaves our sails.

Game 4: Dallas Cowboys: The Big One: We HAVE to rebound after our first loss. Tough team to do it against. But...

Chris Hope and Pacman come up big in this one... 2 picks and only one TO TD.

Bledsoe takes some licks... His feet encased in cement and all.

Volek Shines... 3 TD passes to 3 recievers.

Vince scores...

Lendale scores...

and VICTORY!!!!!!! is ours!

Titans....

3-1.

You heard it here.
