Hey, in 3 hours The Falcons will
play the Pats in the Georgia Dome.

I even have brought a news articles for the pregame. :brow:
http://ledger.southofboston.com/articles/2006/08/11/sports/sports01.txt

‘‘I’m not a big fan of preseason. I spend more time standing on the sideline chewing up sunflower seeds more than anything.’’ - Vick on his approach to exhibitions.

The Atlanta Falcons are the leading candidate to trade for Ashley Lelie, who has a year left on his contract and will be a free agent in March if he plays this season.
-- Washington Times

I got surgical and went to find the rest of this story off the si link. More mama drama. This thing has been going on so long I forgot about it. This is not an entire article but 1 quarter of the column. The column by the Washington Post's writer is in it's entirety across two pages in this link to the Washington Post
Lelie's holdout continues -- Ashley Lelie threw a hissy-fit worthy of Paris Hilton when the Denver Broncos traded for the Green Bay Packers' disgruntled receiver Javon Walker in April, a move that likely would reduce Lelie, the incumbent starter, to a backup.
Lelie's fit still is going on. He declined to report to training camp and is being fined $14,000 each day he holds out. If he stays out through the Sept. 10 season opener, Lelie will be docked more than $600,000, roughly equivalent to his base salary.
Coach Mike Shanahan never has had a player hold out this long, and he is furious. Lelie is a dazzling deep threat, but he caught just 133 passes in his three years as a starter. His 36-year-old teammate, Rod Smith, caught 238 during the same period. "Our guys aren't going to worry about someone who doesn't want to be here," Shanahan said. "They know that guy isn't going to win you a championship. Ashley's got a contract. He's obligated to be here. We're holding all the cards."
Lelie's agent, Peter Schaffer, remains "very optimistic" that his client will be traded, but the Broncos want a first- or second-round draft pick or a starter in return.
The Atlanta Falcons are the leading candidate to trade for Lelie, who has a year left on his contract and will be a free agent in March if he plays this season. The Falcons lost No. 3 receiver Brian Finneran to a season-ending knee injury and have unproven starters in Michael Jenkins and Roddy White.

CBS IS SHOWING THE GAME

BlazingArrow are you getting the 49'ers game later on?
I bet you are.

Otherwise unless you are affected by these markets
CBS is showing the Birds to the dirty south and the north east I guess.

I wish WFLI still picked up the WKRN feed. The Chargers and Bears looks interesting. Kind of a strenth on strenth there. Good frequency. I'd still give up some football watching and be able to see the Titans away preseason instead of just listening to it and watching other games.

* NFL Preseason Football -

Washington Redskins at Cincinnati Bengals, NBC Aug 13 08:00pm

Oakland Raiders at Minnesota Vikings, ESPN Aug 14 08:00pm

Kansas City Chiefs at New York Giants, FOX Aug 17 08:00pm

San Diego Chargers at Chicago Bears, CBS Aug 18 08:00pm

Seattle Seahawks at Indianapolis Colts, NBC Aug 20 08:00pm

Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints, ESPN Aug 21 08:00pm

I get a choice - Newschannel 8 is showing the Ratbirds game and CBS is doing the Atlanta game (I'm about 50 miles From Baltimore and less than 25 from the Redskins stadium)

yeah I get the 49er game.

The big preseason game around here is next week when Raider 49ers play in Oakland. Battle of the bay and all. Most of the SF Bay Area is divided between the two teams as a fan base.

I respect the 49er fans but they are pretty smug with there 5 SB rings but they show class.

Raider fans are typically different.

The game in Oakland will be ugly.

I get 3 games televised in my area.

New England at Atlanta 8:00 p.m. (CBS)
N.Y. Giants at Baltimore 8:00 p.m.
Chicago at San Francisco 10:00 p.m.

I think that is bs that I live in Tennessee and the preseason is not on again this year in my area. However the Falcon game I will be at will likely run on FOX anyhow cuz the FOX affiliate is not a two timing whore like my CBS affiliate who will bring me the Colts vs. a pile of snot before they bring me something compelling or an otherwise meaningful game. The silver underlining is that when Vince Young rocks Texas will be forced to watch him, so is the way of the world, what can I do? I'm only one person.

I know what game you are going to watch #9

LOL my work had a sports theme day today so I had to wear a jersey all day. How the conversation about the jersey came up.

I am wearing #9 in blue.

Still love him, still love the memories. Sorry it had to go down the way it did.

For anyone who watches the Ratbird game tonight, please post on here on McNair looks. I bet he's only in there a couple of series.

The over and under of passes to Heap is four.

I'm sorry, I will have to laugh if McNair throws 3 INTs and 1 TD (to a TE) and Boller throws 3 TDs and an INT. Don't get me wrong... I like McNair. However, when he is wearing a purple and black bird on his head, he's got no fan in me. This season will be interesting.

haha you have the durty birds and pats game 2x's over? haha ... vick had one nice run and he hit several receivers. He didn't look great. Brady had a short td pass dropped. maroony for NE looks AWESOME!!! Dillon is running well. Atlanta is repeating 4th down as their drive has stalled folllowing the NE score. 3-3

Pats fixing to recieve punt. Hit hard at mid field. decent return. Here come the pats.
