Does anybody still think we will be in the market to trade away a RB/TE/WR?

Also I noticed Dan Wilkinson -sp? Signed with the Dolphins today...

Although I REALLY like Mahelona, I think we need one more big man at DT.

I think we'll be looking to trade a RB before the end of the pre-season.

But, I think Fish, and the rest of the coaches, would like to see what they have/need in the next couple of weeks before making that decision. I also think they'll take any injury considerations into account before making a move.

I don't think they'll trade a RB after all. Not much market value for Gaither/Payton, and with the renewed emphasis on the run (how many times did the announcers say it Sat night??), they'll run all 3 of those guys into the ground.

I do think a DT signing is on the horizon.

I think this is a list of current FA DT... IYO Would any of these guys be worth bringing in for a look?

http://www.theredzone.org/2006/freeagents/showposition.asp?Position=DT

nevermind that is just a list of potential? free agents... still I'll leave it for comparrison sake.

Here are some I came across while searching... http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL+Zone/Free-agent+moves.htm

DT -
Sam Adams? Jason Fisk? Josh Williams? Ted Washington? Kenderick Allen?
Brentson Buckner?

DE -
Duane Clemons? Trevor Pryce? Brandon Noble?

These are other FA I was wondering about - if anyone knows...
LB Na'il Diggs? OG Matt Stinchcomb? CB Ahmed Plummer? LB Jamie Sharper?
LB Chris Claiborne?

Also one other question... When do teams begin making cuts? I think we could wait until then to add DL/OL depth.

August 29, 2006: Roster cut down to maximum of 65 players.

September 2, 2006: Roster cut down to maximum of 53 players.

Thanks Childress79...

The more I think about what might be available via trade or current FA the more I believe the Titans will watch other teams' PreSeason and August/September cuts... I would expect there should be some mid-high quality talent available.

I agree with the signing of one more DT. With Long out for the season and Starks getting in trouble for who knows how long, the Titans will need depth on the line. I foresee a trade of a RB for a DT or DB. Hey, if the Steelers need a guy like Henry to replace the bus, we could definitely use a guy like Polamalu or Joey Porter. :brow:

Starks is charged with misdemeanor domestic. If he doesn't have another incident, he will get parole and no jail time. No reason to believe he will miss any more time.

for a misdemeanor he will receive community service and thats about it, im sure he payed his bail he'll have his day in court then move on with his life, thankfully it sshouldnt go past a little community service and he will be on the d-line before preseason is over

I don't want to trade Brown, but if the Jets really want him do they have any DL that would be worth the trade, especially a DT? Or a CB? I don't think Straight for Brown is a good deal, btw. So I mean some OTHER player.

I like Shaun Ellis, (former DL from U. Tenn) but I wonder if they'd part with him.

Dewayne Robertson DT is also interresting to me along with a pick...

or I'd take Cedric Houston and a 3rd round pick  because I'd assume they are interrested in T. Henry/Brown...

I also agree that Derrick Strait alone would not do it for me.

Shaun Ellis is awesome. Seriously doubt they would part with him though. Thats pretty much the only guy I think we should trade Brown for. He's too important.

Tennessee...

Dwayne robertson? He was like the 4th pick in the entire draft in 2003. He's the best DT they have and solidly productive and reliable.

They are not going to give up their best DT for chris brown and will certainly not give up on that high a pick in mid career.
