SUMMARY: Speculation is that Titans QB Steve McNair may return to Baptist Sports Park on Monday. When he does, he'll be asked to complete a physical by team trainers according to GM Floyd Reese. “I doubt if he’ll be in here before next week, but once he comes in, we’ll give him a physical and then put him back in the program,” Reese said. Players are usually not given a physical before OTAs, but given the sensitive nature of the situation, it is a matter of the team covering its bases. Should McNair not pass the physical, then the situation regarding liability with the contract could be in a gray area once again, regarding what type of injury he might have and when it occurred.

So now what?, once he passes his physical, he'll just go in there awkwardly and train?
If he wants to. If he's not traded or released, I suspect he'll show up a few days the first week then not return until the OTAs beginning June 13.

Can you imagine the scenario if they find something in the physical that cuases the Titans to again refuse to let McNair work out?

Bus flys in a specialist to contest it. The NFLPA will send in their guy as well. They might have to bring in an arbitrating physician to make the call. :brow:

Well, we're now in Week 10 and McNair's new arbitration hearing is still not over. He has now been flown to a special physician in Switzerland for a
12th opinion. More on this story at ten............

And the hits just keep on coming!

There are 2 possibilities...

First, the Titans are just covering there bases since he's had a lot of injuries, costs a lot of money and apparently, doesn't normally workout with the team. I hope this is them just being cautious because anything else and this could get ugly - er! Most likely they are covering there bases.

Second, if he doesn't pass his physical AND can't play this year due to that injury, the Ravens aren't gonna take him in a trade and our worst case scenario plays out...we cut McNair, get nothing for him, make ourselves look bad and from a publicity point of view...screw up our ending with McNair. Not good!

Hopefully he passes the physical, everyone puts a nice spin on it and the Titans announce he'll be our starting QB this season and how happy they are that he's back in the fold and can mentor VY and ride off into the sunset as a Titan.

Article says he looks fit and has been working out every day so he most likely will pass the physical and if so maybe this will move the situation forward. The way Steve talked he didnt have anything bad to say and even says it was business and he leaves the businees to Cook. This maybe a way leaving room to return to the Titans if not I still hope we release him as late as possible.

He would have to pass a physical by Baltimore before they would sign him anyway.
Right. And the Titans are not liable if he was injured outside of BSP. I assume there would be some kind of settlement or they could just release him since his salary isn't guaranteed.
