Yes. First 2 seasons, Blood and Sand and Gods of Arena were great. Wasn't as good after Andy Whitfield (who played Spartacus in Blood and Sand) died. John Hannah who played Batiatus really stole the show imo. You can maybe skip seasons 3 and 4.

It is funny you mention that today because I just started the third season and already I don't like it. I don't like the new actor playing Spartacus and agree with you on Batiatus. He did steal the show.
My streaming service actually started me with the prequel season first. Which I watched at a moderate pace. The first season, which I watched after, I watched faster and faster as it went on. Once past half way I rushed because I was eager to see the slave revolt.
BTW, no spoiler alert on what I just said because if someone does not know the basics of the Spartacus story they should probably reexamine their live up to this point.
I'm only three episodes in but I really like it so far. It doesn't really strike me as being any dumber than a lot of other similar animated comedies. I mean the premise of Rick & Morty is arguably much dumber yet it still really works. Bojack has some great comedic talent as well... Will Arnett, Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt, tons of others.
Like I said, I'm only a few episodes in. But it's got a 4th season coming so it must be doing pretty well for them. I say at least give it a couple of episodes. I have a feeling both of you might like it.
