SUMMARY: According to his #1 target for a number of season, Frank Wycheck believes Steve McNair has thrown his last pass for the Titans."There's basically no way I could see Steve coming back to Tennessee at this point, not with all that has happened," Wycheck said. "It's going to be a strange feeling to watch him run into the Coliseum on Nov. 12 with [former Titans] Derrick Mason and Samari Rolle all wearing that dirty bird on their helmets. It's time to cut ties." Wycheck went on the say he feels that the impasse between the three-time Pro Bowl selection and the Titans is about more than money. "Steve is big on respect," Wycheck said. "He has a lot of pride as a competitor and a football player. He's a tough son-of-a-gun. This whole thing is very hard on him."

Steve is big on respect? Wasn't that the main reason Eddie left?
We saw how much respect Eddie got after that. The bottom line is athletes at that stage of their career expect to be treated and paid like they are still pro-bowl players when they obviously are not. Humility is much better than pride when you are at the end of your athletic career if you want to have a lasting legacy IMHO. Bettis was a good example of how to do it.

Bettis is the exception to the rule and should be the poster boy for how this can work out. He ended up playing a big role on a Super Bowl winner and left the game at the top. He's had endorsements out the whazoo as a result and is a legend in Pittsburgh.

But I heard Eddie had a video game show.

I wonder what Steve and the Organization think about Wycheck's comments.

Frank doesnt work for the Titans. He works for Citadel Broadcasting. Besides, he's not saying anything that everyone else in town hasnt been saying for the past two months.

If Frank ever loses his radio gig, he could get a job as a fortune teller. Ever since January, he'd been banging the drum for both David Givens and Vince Young.
