The more I think about tomorrow's game, the more I think it is one of the most must-win games the Titans have had for some time. Not so much from the won/loss standpoint but to get the direction of the team back on track.

A convincing win tomorrow lays the groundwork for some confidence building. Most of the players drafted by the Titans on the roster have never experienced a winning season. I think the Titans have to learn how to win games again. It could all begin tomorrow. Fisher will have a foundation to build on.

There are so many questions right now surrounding the team that can begin to settle (or at least be put on the back burner) if the Titans show well tomorrow. But if the Titans squeak one out after playing a sloppy game or lose, I think we'll see it hit the fan like never before.

The fans and media will not hold back. Everything will be questioned. It will be ugly and it won't get any easier anytime soon.

I think this may be one of the most important non-playoff games in Fisher's career.

I think it is a must win, we are better than them and hopefully the team sees that. If they kneel over then, like you said, the metaphorical crap will have hit the eerily real fan.

The Jets game is a definite must win. With the tough schedule that we have all year,, we must win any games against lesser quality opponents. Fisher can't afford to get out coached by a rookie, 30 something year old HC and Billicheck disciple.
If We lose tommorrow, we set ourself of on a bad note. With a loss, there will be no momentum heading into a difficult next 4-5 weeks. From a mental standpoint, a win tommorrow would increase the morale of the Titans dramatically...at least for one week

I could not agree more

IMO it is a must win because it is our best shot at a win in a very tough opening schedule.

As a fan I can't help feeling that if we can't beat the Jets then we have little chance against the Chargers,Phins,Cowboys,Colts & Skins. All teams closing out 05' with winning records & billed as contenders this season.

I find it hard to believe that there isn't a similar feeling about the need to win the opening game within the Titans organisation. If we were to lose any of the aforementioned games that follow the jets game it would be to some extent expected & be justified depending on the manner in which the team lost.

The confidence of beating the jets ought to spill over into at least the Chargers game & may well a positive affect on the result.

If we were to lose against the Jets then the run up to the bye could end up being an awfully long & miserable stretch. The next game that we will be 'expected' to win would be against the Texans after the bye wk.

However I believe without a shadow of doubt that we will indeed beat the Jets

Is tomorrow a must win?

Abso freakin lutely

The Jets suck, and Mangini is a loon.

We don't bring a world of hurt on them, weez in trubble.

I don't think it's a must win. Bud wants to see progress in the team this year, and progress can be acheived regardless of tommorow's outcome.
I do think it's a game we have to win if we are going to make it to 8-8 though.

why is Mangini a loon BTW?

Must win. I agree that the young players need a victory. If nothing else, the players have to believe how they are being coached. They have to believe that it was a good move to bring in Collins--despite what they may personally think about the situation and the media comments.

Not sure about the term "must-win" from the "absolutlely must-win standpoint." But, it is one of the more "win-able games on our schedule. So, from that standpoint, it's a must-win game.

Not many of those on the board this year. :))

I'd say it probably is. The Titans need a shot of confidence. Their next 5 games are going to be brutal. And starting out 0-6 could have some pretty drastic circumstances...

If we can't beat another bad team, it just means we're worse than we thought we were. And that's entirely possable :suspect:
