^ Nice review, Drive is on my list. I'm assuming like Leo in his earlier days, it's not "cool" to like Ryan Gosling because of The Notebook, but anyone who thinks he is just another pretty boy, MTV actor, needs to watch "Half Nelson".

.

Or Blue Valentine.

He's definitely better than he gets credit for, and I agree it's for the same reason. Leo kills it pretty much every movie, but since he was a teen heart-throb no one can admit he's one of the best out there at the moment.

Yeah, I think Gosling is in a bit of a weird place as an actor. Probably not as bad as Leo, as it took Leo literally like 5 years to start getting roles that had some substance to them, but still unfairly viewed by audiences.

I have not seen Warrior, and it has more to do with being able to see only seeing a movie a week, and that week I saw Contagion (which isn't bad). I'll probably catch it on a week where jack s*** has come out, as I've heard good things.

Gosling is on my list of actors whose movies I watch because he's in them.

His performances are consistently outstanding. He's a mesmerising actor who picks and chooses intriguing parts to play. His films are rarely mainstream and not for everyone but well worth your time.

Stay
Half Nelson
Fracture
Blue Valentine
Lars and The Real Girl
All Good Things

Titanic almost ruined DiCaprio's career. He made some real turds until Scorsese rescued him.

I still think What's Eating Gilbert Grape is his finest performance.
Speaking from experience of growing up with a mentally and physically handicapped brother I know his performance was flawless.

Just watched Insidious, doesn't even get 10% for me

shocking movie and to think I expceted something scary, the only film to have scared me still remains IT

Hah...my mom made me watch that with her when I was like, four years old. IT makes me laugh now, but damn... I was afraid something was going to come up the drain and kill me for a solid year.

Saw Bridesmaids last night. I should have known by the hype: absolutely awful. We were squirming and screaming for it to be over. Not one laugh; developmental scenes were extended WAAAAY past their expiration date (i.e. the toast competition at the engagement party) and the protaganist never earns our sympathies as the embattled loser who creates her own hard luck. The resolution was clumsy, hamfisted and ignorant of everything that preceded it, so it made no sense at all.

It's time for Judd Apatow to make a career change to something more suited to his talents... perhaps in WalMart shrink control or something...

2/10 only because Waterworld and Ishtar still exist.
