SUMMARY: Rookie RB LenDale White was forced to sit out Saturday night's preseason opener against the Saints because on an incident last Thursday where he spit at S Donnie Nickey. White hadn't apologized to Nickey for his actions but appeared to show much more remorse yesterday. "As far as spitting, that was the 100 percent wrong thing to do," said White. "But as far as going after him and pushing him, I felt that is what I needed to do. My emotions just got the best of me. There was a lot of things that worked into the situation. But I know that what I did was the wrong thing. He is my teammate … and I apologized and everything is fine. From here on out we're going to go out and win a lot of football games."

He did what he should have and showed some class and he needed to. It was handled well by Fisher and hopefully it's behind him with his team mates. Now lets get him on the field in Denver and see what he's got.

I'd give him more credit if he'd made the apology the first time he gave a statement to the media after Saturday's game.

It lacks some sincerity. (I also really doubt that White "loves Nickey to death" or vice versa. It's not like they've been teammates for years.)

That said, better late than never, and I am looking forward to seeing White on the field.

But I think he still has some maturing to do before he really gets it.

Agreed. The whole thing sounded very rehearsed and insincere, but at least he said something.

he brought him a peace burger, but ate it himself.

It was actually 3 burgers a super sized fries and a 2 liter of coke. Nickie strangely only saw the wrappers and half a pickle though. Jokingly Nickie said "Thanks for the pickle". When White heard this he went into a blind rage tackling Nickie and wrestling the burger bag out of Nickie's hand eating the bag, wrappers and the pickle. Jeff Fisher said it was the best hit he had seen during camp and the team was thinking of trying White at LB. His motivation; He stole my burgers!

chances are one will be on the team and the other won't.

If that's the case, Nickey might want to find a way to get under his skin more often.

Because if LW can keep his head straight, the team's not going to cut their second round draft pick.

how sweet, all better now...
now cut Nickey, he's of no use.
White learn and get back on the field and prove why you say you should have been a first round pick.

Speaking of White, anyone see his jewelry the other night?

Chain with a BIG (CD-sized, at least?) gold pendant that said "SHOWCASE" in diamonds or something.

Was wearing it during the first half but was conspicuously absent in the second half. Then (from news footage) back on again when he met up with Bush after the game.

Made me wonder if the NFL uniform police told him to take it off between halves, or if someone on the coaching staff "suggested" he leave it in his locker before going back out on the field. ;)

I think it was proven on Saturday that we need as much depth on defence as possible. And, until we improve on that depth, he has to stay.
