Well, we now have 4 7th round picks. It will be a busy round for us to watch...

Gunny, they lost LaMont Jordan who got big bucks.

Titans to Receive Three Comp Picks in Upcoming Draft

SUMMARY: The NFL announced a total of 32 compensatory picks for 19 teams this afternoon with the Titans receiving a fifth round and two seventh round selections. Under terms of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in a year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks. The Titans lost CB Andre Dyson, TE Shad Meier and RB Antowain Smith to free agency at the end of the 2004 season. Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The formula was developed by the NFL Management Council. Not every free agent lost or signed by a club is covered by this formula. The Titans will receive picks 169, 245 and 246 in the upcoming 2006 NFL Draft.

Actually, Reese has done a great job finding some nuggets in the later rounds. He might be able to find a gem or two again this draft.

Can return the two seventh rounders to the store for a third without a receipt??

We'll probably just get equal or lesser value :p

Maybe we can bundle up some of our other picks to move higher. Shesh how many years in a row can you go with having 10+ picks? We're already the youngest team in the league.

Isn't there some limitation with the comp picks, like, they are not tradeable?

We'd have to package our own and the Colts' 7ths to move up if that's the case.

Can't really complain about three picks. We can now use our non-comp sixth and two sevenths (ours and Colts) to move around some earlier in the draft. I agree, this year should be more about quality than quantity.

Maybe someone will give us a third for Volek and some 6th/7th rounders? It would be nice.

Youre sick! Volek is not the long term answer... Im all for trading him but get a 6th rounder for him? We might as well keep him. We wont find Volek quality players at any position with those type picks.

Huh?

We wont find Volek quality players at any position with those type picks.

Volek himself was not even drafted. The titans are the best team drafting in the last rd.

Carlos hall
Mike green
Reynaldo
Claus
Darrell hill
Todd williams
Amano

With the exception of reynaldo none of these guys became stars but they all made the team and contributed as backups and special team players. Out of 4 picks i would say it is likely one will be a solid starting player for us.
