Ok, So I am posting this in this section because I know we have some gamers on here, and that said gamers will probably having some experience with setting up stations that have 2 or multiple devices going to one monitor.

So, with that said, I did have a dedicated desk for my Gaming PC along with all the peripherals as well as a desk with my work laptop with its peripherals. Now I've had to downsize to one desk for all and I am trying to put everything on that one desk. My issue is, I am having trouble trying to figure out how I can get my mouse and kb to work for both. Here is my thinking and where I am running into an issue.

The work laptop has Thunderbolt 4 USB C wire that goes to a satellite station. The HDMI output is ran from that station to one of my monitor's two HDMI ports. The dongle for the keyboard and mouse is currently in the side of the of the laptop but there is one USB port on front of the satellite station I can use.

Now, the PC has the VGC HDMI running to the other HDMI port on the Monitor. This is where the issue is. I don't know how to get the dongle for the laptop to work for both computers. What I thought I could do is run one or two USB cords out of the USB outputs on the satellite station to the back of the PC thinking the mouse and keyboard signals would flow through the Sat Station and into the PC but that didn't work.

I'm trying to figure this out BEFORE I go spend $100+ on a KVM switch that still might not fix this. Any help would be appreciated.

You probably already did something, but there is software you can install to make mouse and keyboard work on multiple pcs, just search Synergy free download. There's a paid version on their website but its also open source, so easy to find free version.

Thanks! No, I'm still sitting here swapping the dongle lol. I've asked for a KVM switch for xmas but I will check the software out.
