Since their inaugural season in 1999 through the present season of 2020 the Titans in my opinion have done pretty good and are just 5 wins from being in the top 10 in wins over the last 22 seasons.....

I remember having this exact discussion with BTT. He said this team was and has always been trash, I brought this up to him and he acted like his usually dumb self.

So basically the titans are the most successful team to have not won the superbowl in the last two decades. I think that's what they call "bittersweet"

Trash is definitely a harsh adjective... but we have been a very mediocre team that has excelled at holding on to our mediocrity. 8-8 for life!

of course we have had a few good seasons throughout that mediocrity, but we have had a few really crap teams to offset it and keep us at our permanent 8-8.

192 wins,177 losses.
8.7 wins 8.0 losses as an average.

Hard to see teams like the NYG and TB just making the most of their minimal playoff runs.

Don't think its not noticed that every team above Tennessee has at least 1 SB trophy and of the 3 below us with a trophy, Rams beat us, Giants and Buccs are all under .500 teams.

Being this is somewhat of a history thread and I don't mean to throw it off topic, but came across this article for any of the Oilers fans here like myself. Wasn't a fan until Warren Moon, but I am very aware of the "Luv ya blue" days.

Remembering the hysteria, love affair with the '70s Houston Oilers

EDIT: Side note, there is a mention of the trade John Matuszak for eventual HoF Culp and Brazille. Matuszak is best known for his role as Sloth in The Goonies. Extremely lopsided trade in the Oilers favor.

Sloth form The Goonies? That's wild! I love that movie.

Whats crazy is if you asked most non fans or media today about the Titans almost all would wager a guess that since 1999 the team is among the worst or bottom feeders and they'd be dead wrong.....

Over the past 22 seasons the Titans have won more games than all but ten teams in the NFL.

The Titans are clustered right around New Orleans,Denver,Kansas City and Minnesota
in terms of wins and all have around 9 or 10
postseason berths.

As far as postseason wins the Titans have 8 in all while New Orleans has won 10, Denver won 9,
Kansas City and Minnesota have won 6 since '99
which shows it isnt easy winning playoff games.

Kansas City,Denver,Minnesota,New Orleans
and Tennessee have all played in 3 AFC/NFC
Conference Championship Games.

The thing that hurts is Kansas City,New Orleans
and Denver all have Super Bowl titles while the
Titans did have a Super Bowl appearance they
came up short.

Titans have had 6 seasons with 11 or more wins
while New Orleans has 8 with 11 or more wins,
Kansas City has 7 with 11 or more wins,
Denver has 6 with 11 or more wins while
Minnesota has just 4 with 11 or more wins.

The Titans are just 4 wins from being in the top ten in wins where Kansas City is 10th with 196 wins.

The Titans have 192 wins just 8 wins away from cracking the 200 mark.

The Titans only had once over the past 22 seasons where they had more than 2 losing seasons in a row and that was 2012-2015 where they had 4 straight losing seasons.

I admit i was restless during those 4 straight losing seasons which every team at some point goes through 3 or 4 straight eventually.

BUT.....

I could handle 4 losing seasons but most of the time Tennessee had winning seasons however i could not imagine going through 10 years,13 years,18 years,19 years WOW thats bottom barrel like the teams below....

Over the last 13 years the Jaguars have just 1 winning season and 10 of those years they had 11 or more losses. Horrible.

Over the last 13 years the Browns have just 1 winning season and 10 of those years they had 11 or more losses and have not won the division since 1995. Horrible.

Over the last 18 years since 2003 the Raiders have had just one playoff berth and winning season along with 11 years with 11 or more losses....

From the year 2000 thru 2018 the Buffalo Bills endured 19 straight years with no playoffs at all and have not won the division since 1995.

Over the past 22 years the Detroit Lions have made the postseason just 3 times and have not won their division since 1993

Over the last 10 years and decade the N.Y. Jets have had no playoffs at all and just 1 winning year.

Warren Moon is why I’m a Titan fan today

Yeah, the Pearl was amazing. This team has a pretty damn good Rushmore of RBs honestly.

The Titans have had Eddie George,Chris Johnson and Derrick Henry.

Whats very impressive Eddie had 8 years and never missed a game, CJ had 6 years and played in every game except one, Derrick has been here 5 years so far and played in ever game except two.

So between the 3 RB's they have 19 years of playing with just 3 games missed.

AND.....

*9 Pro Bowls
*8 Playoff Berths
*25,000 yards
*175 TDs rushing
*2x 2000 yard rushers
*8 runs over 80 yards
