Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

"Lol b/c you;'re the sole authority on fandom? You know what you sound like here? You sound like the NCAA and their idiotic attempts to "vacate" a teams wins...or more recently the Heisman trust's attempt to strip Reggie Bush of his Heisman trophy.....As if noone saw what happened that year...just "poof" Men in Black the entire sports world....nothing to see here. Its an absolutely silly premise you're making.

No matter whether you "own" the history, people will always associate the Luv ya Blue Oilers...Campbell streaking down the sideline for the OT win against the dolphins on Monday night.....Pastorini and the flack jacket......It will always be associated with Houston..period & no amount of cease & desist letters, bitching about using "Your" color is gonna change that. We know why she's putting up such a stink about it & it ain't noble...its purely for the money...& for us its different. That color is in the city flag..its in old school architechture around town..hell our cop cars have that color on them. Its personal....

& If you truly understood the fued, you'd understand that Bud ****ed the city over b/c he was trying to get more money for himself....& this is after he hit citizens with a 70 millon dollar renovation just 6-7 years prior. Its a helluva lot more to it than just us not showing up to a "save the Oilers" rally. We were all too happy that he left as he threatened to do so 6789 times before then. But That doesn't mean that the memories go with him. & that goes for every fan.

You can get your undies in a wad about that, but it just is what it is.

This is such complete utter horse****. This whole " H-Town Blue" thing is just made up crap. NOTHING, NOTHING is Columbia Blue in Houston but the Oilers. When the Oilers left it was fazed out. Its NOT in the City Flag or the Police Cars, which are black or black and white and have been for 15 years.

Its NO WHERE.

The history belongs to the franchise that Houston kicked to the curb behind that idiot Mayor Bob Lanier and his personal vendetta with Bud Adams You say Bud ****ed the City because he wanted more money. All Bud wanted, all the NFL wanted, all the Rodeo wanted was a new stadium. Which the Harris County Sports Authority built just 4 years later. Give Bud that stadium the Oilers don't leave. Instead, you got Bob McNair and his dirty stolen Enron money, the trophy gold digging wife of the drunken stupid fat son Cal running their mouths. That's why Hannah is out front now. Cal is a moron. Worse than Jim Irsay.

Keep talking trash about Amy. At least she came by her money honest she inherited it from something her father built from nothing. She didn't have to **** Cal to get it.

Texans don't have a throwback so they want to steal the Oilers. Ravens don't have a throwback. You don't hear them bitching about Indy do you? Or St Louis and LA. Texan fans are the stupidest fans in the NFL.

Its not smack talk. Its the truth.

Like now the for real for real...

Why would the Texans put Columbia Blue in their uniforms? why would they make a thing out of not getting to use more and blaming it on Amy. Why? Why not purple? Why not Gold> Or turquoise? Its to sell merch and MAKE MONEY off the rivalry. You probably don't understand that Amy Adams Strunk and the Adams family who you hate make money off every Texan jersey sold. They share the revenue. This whole thing is to pump up the Titans/Texans rivalry. It sells tickets and merch.

This has nothing to do with Houston's football history. Its about money. The Texans and Titans are in on it together. That's the truth.

Google is your friend buddy.

That columbia blue has more history in Houston than Adams and the Oilers....Been in our city flag since before Adams was even born.

Yes you don't see the flag as much around the city anymore..unless you go to like city hall, but its still there and has been there since 1915 when we adopted the flag officially.

The original city markers which date back as far as the 1920's can also still be found all over Houston in various older neighborhoods. The city is trying to keep them preserved for historical purposes.

Blue Tile Project – Bringing Houston's Legacy Back

You think Bud Adams just touched down in Houston in the 60's and came up with all that himself for the Oilers franchise? The original all columbia blue helmets? Sorry to inform you, but he wasn't that original. The whole color scheme with the blue was put forth to him by city officials to adopt that color for the city he was representing...They weren't even the 1st sports team in Houston to don the color, our then minor league baseball team that eventually turned into the Colt 45's had it 1st.

& yes, the color is largely phased out on cop cars NOW...but going as far as the 1960's and at late as the early 2000's that color and Oilers colors in general were still on cop cars here in Houston.

It ain't bunk, it's the truth....but far be it from me to get in the way of your fandom.

Its not Columbia Blue. Its not the Oiler Blue. Its not the H=Town blue. Its actually darker than what you posted, but I appreciate the effort to be right. But you just aren't.

The Patrol Cars were meant to match the color of the shirt they wore.

The official Houston Blue and in fact the Colt 45s blue is closer to Texans steel blue than Columbia Blue.

Oilers Columbia Blue Color Code:

LIGHT BLUE
PANTONE: PMS 279
HEX COLOR: #418FDE;
RGB: (65,143,222)
CMYK: (70,20,0,0)
BUY MATCHING PAINT

City of Houston blue Color Code

Hex 384D9C
RGB 56, 77, 156
CMYK 64, 51, 0, 39
Pantone 7685 C !
RAL 5007

Houston Colt 45s color codes ( literally same as Astros)

NAVY
PANTONE: PMS 648 C
HEX COLOR: #002D62;
RGB: (0, 45, 98)
HSB: (211, 100, 38)
CMYK: (100, 89, 34, 25)
BUY MATCHING PAINT

The City of Houston has more of a connection in its sports teams with Red or hell even Orange. The Oilers were Columbia Blue. HPD used that color for sure.

Bud Adams picked Columbia Blue and White ( then trimmed in red) because of if he and his Dad Boots connection to Kansas college football. It had NOTHING to do with Houston.

You just dont know what you are talking about.

I dont understand this thread. Is it supposed to be some form of a smack thread or just more whining about the stupid Texans fans still bemoaning this whole Oilers history after the team being turned away by the city 26 freaking years ago?

Get over it already. Baltimore let it go. Oakland let it go.

Dallas was originally the Texans before becoming the Chiefs so shut up about Houston somehow having ownership in perpetuity of the Oilers franchise.

Sort of. The “argument” or cows fan wining, was stealing real estate on one of the pick threads.
