Locker will be an upgrade over Hasselbeck....CJ can't be any worse next year than he was this year....Nate is getting better and better....Britt will be healthy but will be a question mark....Cook will finally ball out....may have a Jimmy Graham-lite type of season
We HAVE to improve the middle of the O-line....as long as we do that our offense will be scary....really scary....especially with how well Locker looked with his down the field passing....as Bart Scott says, "CAN'T WAIT!"

I don't think we should count on Kenny to be our #1 WR. If he goes down again (God forbid) we will be screwed like we were this year. I think he'd be more deadly if we used him as our #3 and signed a guy like Reggie Wayne or Dwayne Bowe.
Imagine Kenny being a slot WR. O-M-G WOW, he'd be unstoppable.

Just because you are placed in the slot doesn't mean you aren't the primary target.

I like what we have at WR and would rather bolster another position via FA. I'd like to see us draft a guy like Joe Adams. A guy that is a real weapon with the ball in his hands. A guy who can run by you or can catch the bubble screen and take it to the house.

It would be a colossal mistake if we keep those 3 as our starters at WR and don't add anyone else. I don't think Williams is starter material on a top 10 offense - which is what I'm hoping for next year. He is a great depth guy and he can also take over returning kicks if we decide to drop Mariani (who is useless).
Kenny Britt is injury prone and coming off a torn ACL. Look at how long it took Avery to recover from his (I don't even think he's recovered fully yet). If we force Britt into the #1 role and give him regular snaps, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets re-injured at which point not only does his career come into question but our season will again.
I don't think we need to draft a WR but I think we should definitely bring in another capable vet that's proven they can perform. I doubt we'll spend the money on Wayne/VJax/Colston so I'd be happy with someone like Steve Smith (Eagles) or Brandon Lloyd.
We also need another RB. Not because Harper/Ringer can't be backups to CJ. We need a RB to compete with CJ for the starter spot and rotate them based on the game/situation. The problem there is we have so much money locked up in the RB position already and it'll be hard to justify spending more. I would like to see us pick up Kevin Smith from the Lions and have him & CJ compete for the #1 spot in training camp.
Drop Javon Ringer and Mariani or Hawkins.

Would be awesome if we could get Tolbert...the dude is a load, would be a good short yardage back, and is a decent pass catcher

Houstons defense has not done any worse with Mario Williams out.
Brooks Reed and Conner Barwin are much more prototypical 3-4 rush Lbers than Mario Williams is.
Williams is much more of the typical 4-3 DE. I don't think you will find another 300lb OLBer in the league.
I could easily see them not re-signing him. Not sure whether they would try to do a tag and trade deal with some team or not.
How many games has he actually played? His effort was in question before a ACL tear, I just don't see Kenny Britt being a Wes Welker like guy......too many injuries on and off the field. We need another WR. Blackmon from OSU or Floyd from ND would be nice. Your right Britt is explosive, but on the bench does us no good.

No way Blackmon slips out of the top ten however Floyd would be a good pick up but we have to many other needs
We do need another WR but is it really necessary to go out looking for another #1 WR at this point in time? Especially when we have sooooooo many other needs. IMO we need a really dangerous slot WR like Joe Adams from arkansas.

I'm so glad so many of you realize that just getting Kenny back isn't going to be enough to take our offense to the next level. We HAVE to get someone else in here who can be a #1 WR when Kenny is out hurt. He hasn't played a full season yet, missed time in each of his first 3 because of injury. Why depend on him when he hasn't proved himself to be dependable? If you think we're ok with just Nate, Damien, and Hawkins you're kidding yourself.
My question to you guys is this; do you think the front office realizes this? Do you think they think they need someone else at WR or do you think they think they're fine? I'm afraid they've seen how well Nate played and are thinking "well Kenny will be back next year, then we'll be really good at WR."

Washington can stretch the field and Williams can play slot I would like to see a tough physical reciever to play like britt to evantually replace him of injuries reoccur
I think they do realize it to a certain extent. They're pretty stupid if they don't. I doubt they'll act on it though.
When Kenny went down this year, it got very close to panic time. Nate stepped up huge and DWill stepped up a bit but our offense was not very good. The problem, IMO, is that Munchak thinks fixing the O-line will fix the offense as a whole. Once we get our running game going, it will open up opportunities for the passing game type thinking. While I agree with that partially, I still think we need another solid WR and a better RB to push CJ.
If you read CJ's quotes from earlier this week, he doesn't even think him getting cut is a possibility. He thinks he's locked in for his contract and that has to change. He needs to start playing motivated football.
