I could not agree with titans 2008 more!!!!!!! Jacobs is very good and 2 years ago he was thought to be a day one pick..............more upside with him than Croyle and the kid from Oregon, he was a steal nice pick by the steelers!

Omar...

People were afraid of his side arm motion but all the tools are there. Would have been nice if we could have drafted some insurance in case young doesn't work out soon enough. The way things look the next 4 years are entirely staked to VY. We have no other options. Seems that steve is leaving and volek will only be around for 2006.

Another great move for the steelers.

Funny, we are looking at the future and see no certainty at QB it is all or nothing with young. Yet we didn't draft jacobs or anyone else for insurance or backup. The steelers who already have a potential hall of fame QB did see fit to use a pick on another young QB. :sad2:

Not really RollTide. They had no other options. Tommy Maddox wants a trade and Charlie Batch is barely a backup - both with age against them. They need to start grooming a backup for the system and a guy who can do similar things to Roethlisberger. He's similar in size speed and build who uses a lot of short passes to his advantage. Jacobs won't even need to do the short passes handing the ball off but ya know - it helps grooming a guy into the system. Look at Jamie Martin at STL - he was handy just because he knew the system.

Regardless, it was clear today that we did BPA for most of the draft. IMO McNeil and Jacobs clearly qualified as BPA's in the 5th round and possibly even the 4th.

Marcus McNeill, OT from Auburn or Reggie McNeal, from TAMU?

Either way, not a bad draft. I think the last two 7th rounders were throwaways, but decent p/up with Mahelona in the top of that round...

the footage they showed of Jacobs showed me some indecisiveness

and having Jacobs isn't really any insurance if Vince isn't ready
Omar has just as many issues as Vince does - if not more
