Getting to the passer is obviously a key component to having a good defense. Last year we were middle of the pack in sack numbers. Their hasn't been much talk on here about improving our pass rush. Denico Autry has been a beast for us over the last 3 yrs.... he has more sacks than Aaron Donald... Chris Jones is the only DT with more sacks over that period of time. We cannot lose Autry and then not address the pass rush in FA because this would leave our secondary out to dry.
I really want us to bring Autry back on a 2 yr deal, but think that making a run for Christian Wilkins or Danielle Hunter would help our secondary more than shelling out money to Kendall Fuller or some other CB.

Yeah we definitely need to bring back Autry. But have a feeling he will sign an one year deal with someone like the Raiders. Not sure why he hasn't been a priority as of yet.

Losing autry will hurt big time. Age aside, he was playing top level still and if nothing else, that would only create another big hole to fill.
Really banking on Landry to be really good and Simmons. Wish there were top tier options in the draft we could consider.
Some good names at Edge on the market. IMO, we aren't at a stage where we should overpay for one of the elite names. Someone like Uche or Greenard would be good signings and help improve the defense without breaking the bank.
I love Autry but go spend some money and upgrade that D. Armstead would be sick alongside Jeff.
Armstead has had 1 season of more than 6 sacks and that was his contract yr. I'd be fine with a 1 yr prove it deal, but Autry has been more impactful than Armstead. Time to sign Hunter to a 4 yr deal.

Hard to judge Chase after the ACL tear. It appears he is in the 2yr healing club.
Well, he was DROY, so… there’s that. If you look into his career, there is more to the story than just stats. He did tear his knee up during his second season and it required a longer rehab than a simple ACL tear. Could be worrisome, but it also explains some things. If we can use him like the 49ers used him, he could be a beast.
