But if he isnt subject to any waiver claims how can he get signed? Wouldnt he be a Free Agent? Like Edge and Milloy et al?
Edge hasnt been cut, he's not a free agent until his contract expires at the end of the league year.
Apparently if a player is cut his contract is terminated immediately, meaning he becomes a free agent in the current league year, whereas a player who's contract expires won't become a free agent until the start of the next league year.

i guess if you are vested and are flat out released you can negotiate
(not sure if that actually allows you to SIGN though)
