Watching the Bears defense completely dismantle and humiliate Vick and company was the best thing I have seen all year. It also demonstrated how far away the Titans are from having a dominating defense.
There is not a LB or safety on the Titans with the exception of Bulluck that would even be second string on the Bears. The Bears defense was playing one 2nd string LB and two backup safties in that game and yet I saw far better safety play and the backup LB, Joe would be an instant starter on the Titans. What is the deal? Those backup safties were crunching Falcon recievers. Are our guys taking female hormones or something? Tank Williams couldn't carry Mike Green's jock. Brandon McGowan (a rookie) started his first game of his career and played better than LT ever thought about playing (he also had 11 tackles in the Pitt game). Both of those guys are only 200 pounds but hit harder than any of our current DBs.
Obviously there is a difference in talent but when a team can insert two backup safties, one of them was actually 3rd string rookie and still maintain the character of the defense and not miss a beat a big part of the problem has to be coaching.

Briggs would be a great except that one year under Schwartz and he would be reduced to a girlie man.
We have no agressiveness at LB or Safety I mean our guys are straight up HOESBY'S.
There is not a single player on our Defense that instills fear into the heart of an opposing player. No RB in this league, CFL, XFL, WFL, NFLE, NCAA, HIGH SCHOOL, POP WARNER is scared of Bulluck who does Bulluck scare?Hell who does anybody on our Defense scare?
We need some Shawn Merrimans at LB, Safeties who won't have it.

Did anyone catch that play yesterday when Merriman threw on of the Colt guards into Manning ? That guy if one strong SOB...
Manning looked so p'oed to be going down so hard and often. It was great.
We are in desperate need of more speed at the LB position(except KB). After watching the underneath crossing routes the seahawks ran yesterday, KB seemed the only one that could keep it close on coverage.
yea that merriman kids is a beast! he was putting pressure all game
It's funny you guys should mention that game. The guys that were getting the most presure on Manning were rookies, i.e. Merriman and Castillo. It's sad that Bulluck and KVB can't get after Manning like two rookies can. :hmm:
Maybe it has something to do with our DC? :brow:

kvb had two sacks against the colts the last game, but they were negated because "penalties".
and for bulluck to get sacks, he has to blitz. thats not the way we do things around here.

I remember Fisher talking about how it is better to play a straight up defense against the Colts than to try gimmicks. The Bolts played essentially the Pats defense agaisnt the Colts and it worked very well with their personel.

true, but he could do differential calcalus in his head while backpeddaling on 3rd and 3
Yeah, just like he did With KVB.Soxcat said:Briggs would be a great except that one year under Schwartz and he would be reduced to a girlie man.
KVB is immune to womanization by dehr Schwartz by the mighty presence of Washburn.

lol :ha:
Too bad he has focused so much on KVB as there are numerous other spots that could use some of whatever you think Schwartz has done for KVB.
ya know I read in the Tennessean just last week where Washburn said that when KVB worked out he said something like "If we can control his hands there is a lot to work with" or something like that.
No quotes from MbSGWb Schwartz on any training plans he had for KVB - but it is possible Schwartz slept at a Holiday Inn Express that night

Holy cow! Your right. I can't believe Washburn said something similar that was kind of like but different than what you said. I'm sold. Hire Washburn cause he talked about a player.
yep, rushing four every play to make sure none of the linebackers take his sacks.:ha:rcarie said:KVB is having the best year in his career thanks to Schwartz.
