METAIRIE, La.-- The New Orleans Saints announced
Monday that they have hired Gary Gibbs as defensive coordinator.
Gibbs, the linebacker coach for the Dallas Cowboys for the last
four seasons and a 23-year coaching veteran, has been a
coordinator three times, including at Louisiana State in 2001.
The 53-year-old is the initial hire by new coach Sean Payton,
who spent the last three years in Dallas as an assistant with
Gibbs.
