Moon had Carlson as a back-up... with the same debate as McNair and Volek. Moon was acquired by the Vikings' heading into the 94' season that involved draft picks and a 10 year career with the Oilers'. McNair was drafted with the Oilers' 3rd pick in the first round ( By Reese ) of the 95' draft that saw Chris Chandler created vet leadership at the QB position until the development of McNair had legs. The difference though... if we draft Leinart, we'll see the results a lot quicker with the added benefit of the " Chow " factor and a system Leinart already knows.
I DO NOT see the Leinart decision personally. I do not understand it AT ALL. The only positive Leinart has over Cutler and Young is the system. That means Chow has go to be here AT LEAST for the next 4 year for the Leinart decision to make sense. Cutler can LEARN the system. Young can LEARN the system. Why draft someone who already knows it when he isn't even gonna play this season? So basically we've paid McNair for NO reason because if we draft Leinart - he should be playing this year.
We draft the one who is going to be able to run Chow's offense the best, with least mistakes and is able to bond with all members of the organization. With that being said, you can't deny Leinart ability and history that he has with Chow. Now I pesonally like Young the best but that is just me. The Pick...

How are you all ceratin about that statement though. Hypthetically let's say we suck this year and Fisher is fired (God Forbid). And then Norm is made the Head Coach. The thing is I agree we should take the best talent but something that goes into the formula is who is going to fit into Chow's system because he will be here for the next couple of years.

Right now I think Cutler is the best choice. He's something for Chow to groom - not the finished article (which is what Leinart almost is) that will be a boom or bust in the NFL. At least with Cutler/Young Chow has some say/influence.
Your premise that Leinart is simply a "system QB" is wrong IMO. They all have loads of talent. We should draft the best QB. IMO that's Leinart.thnom said:
