No way. They can’t imagine him playing a starting safety role. He will be a 3rd safety on blitzing sub packages. The guy can’t even cover TE’s.

Given they did not announce financials probably for the minimum. That becomes a case of why not. Also gives leverage to titans if they are still talking to other safeties.

I’m good with the move especially if it was vet minimum. I would be surprised if we are not still talking to other safeties better in coverage like Simmons as well.

One wonders if James Williams was drafted to be groomed into a TE coverage specialist like Cruikshank was used back in the day. At 6’5” 215, he has the size and length to match up with tall modern TE’s.
