The idea seems to be gaining traction. It's hard to imagine Vrabel leaving a good NFL gig to beg 17 year olds to play for him but it's his alma mater, and Ohio State could probably double whatever Amy Adams Strunk is able to pay.

Nick Saban is the highest paid college coach at 11.7 million, and Vrabel is making over 9 million a year with the Titans, so I highly doubt Ohio State is going to pay double what the Titans can. They aren’t even an SEC school. I also highly doubt they are going to fire their current coach with a 45-4 record. Stop spreading nonsense.

Where do you see Vrabel's salary? I've seen one website cite 9 mil seemingly from nowhere while every other article says his salary is unknown. I kind of doubt he's making 9 million even after his extension.

Looking at other NFL Salaries, I would say he’s making AT LEAST that after the latest extension. McVay makes like 18 million a year.

Vrabel isn't leaving the Titans unless he's forced out. And even then, I doubt he heads to the collegiate level. NFL head coaches don't typically go to the college level unless they get fired from the NFL.

It won't happen coming from a Buckeye fan.

Vrabel left for the NFL because of the grind and time away from family during the recruiting process.

Brian Hartline, whom is the #2 recruiter in the nation, will get the opportunity first before Vrabel

It’s not even remotely gaining traction. One guy wrote it as an opinion piece and people wrote it was absurd. That’s not traction.

I assume this is where you saw the $9 mil/year
https://thesportsdaily.com/news/highest-paid-nfl-coach/

This says straight up unknown
Who are the highest paid coaches in the NFL this season?

This says annual salary of $3.025 mil/year
https://sportscriber.com/money/nfl-coaches-salary/

This repeats the $3 mil
https://www.thedelite.com/the-highest-paid-nfl-head-coaches/7/

This states he has a net worth of appx $10 mil and that was formulated into an estimated salary between $3-$5 mil/year
https://www.thetimes.com.ng/2022/11/mike-vrabel-net-worth-2022-wiki-age-career-salary/

This is some British rag that also states appx $3 mil/year but they may actually be referencing another site

So overall, not really sure what his salary is. Between him and the team, it seems they’ve kept it under wraps for whatever reason. Hard to know if OSU can beat that amount, but I’m not sure that money is all he’d leave for.

For the record, I don’t believe he’s considering this.

how does one go from successful NFL career to successful NFL HC and only have $10m... dont get me wrong that is tons of $s but seems off bigly to me.

lets see 14 years in NFL... call that at least $10m probably $20m or more

lets see 5 years HC call it $2m a year... OK guess not as bad as I thought but still should be worth minimum $20m probably $30m or more

Not sure how net worth is calculated or how those couple years in between player to NFL coach would factor towards the final estimate.

I think you’re right on his appx money earned over his playing career, I do t know what a positional coach at a college earns and DC in Houston for that 1 year was probably substantially less than HC.

Despite the “secrecy” around his current salary, it seems like OSU could beat the estimates but I doubt by much.

Now if he can get the Lombardi, his salary should increase pretty greatly. Coaches should maybe have that incentive written in?

I know for a fact that Kentucky is paying Mark Stoops 8.6 million a year and there is no way he is making more than Vrabel. Fisher made 6.5 million a year when he coached the Titans over a decade ago. That 3 million a year stuff is complete BS.

I’m not going to argue what Vrabel gets paid in comparison to a college coach.

from what information is available, it doesn’t seem anyone, including you, knows how much he’s getting paid.

with long tenured, SB winning coaches like Harbaugh, Carroll, and Bellicheck maxing out around $12 mil (from what looks reported), there are only some young HC matching and Vrabel was signed before them. Maybe his extension puts him right on par, but that might leave a window of what you say, more than stoop, of appx $9-12 mil.

I don’t think he’s the highest paid coach. I’d even make argument that Andy Reid and Mike Tomlin have done more to earn a higher salary which would put Vrabel under $8 mil.

at this point, we’re only arguing his contract numbers, I think we are both in agreement that it doesn’t seem like he’s prepping to go anywhere.

How Much Money Does Andy Reid Make? | Sports Illustrated Kansas City Chiefs News, Analysis and More

Reed was making over 10 million a year 2 years ago. Just admit you have no clue what you’re talking about and move on. Anyone with any common sense would know Mike Vrabel didn’t just sign a
new contract for 3 million per year.

Can we please end this thread... lol...

Ohio State Head Coach 2024 & Beyond. (I say 2024 because ain't no way Day's getting fired for a 1 loss regular season)

1. Ryan Day
2. Brian Hartline
3. Urban Meyer

Those are the 3 on the table - from very most likely to very least likely. Vrabel has worse odds than Urban Meyer.... I hope some of y'all never get into sports betting once/if it becomes legal in your state lol.

Admins/Mods have locked many threads for no further replies -- even with substance to be added --- this should follow suit lol

In order for this to happen Ryan Day would have to be fired and that’s not happening. Vrabel is not going anywhere either!!
