Carson Wentz was the darling of the 2016 NFL draft. For no reason. The guy had average stats at North Dakota State. However, he was drafted high by a team in the NFC east: the division every national media hack salivates over every fracking year. In his rookie year, Wentz played pretty well. Not great, but well for a rookie. The following year, he played at about the same level until his season ended due to a knee injury. But.... the national media had already hyped him as the MVP of the league. You know the rest of the story; injury, sub-par performance, etc.

I bring this up because the national media has been very generous towards Carson Wentz despite the fact that he is a bust. I'm sick of it. If Carson Wentz were on the Jaguars, he would have been run out of town two years ago. The national media is insanely biased towards the NFC east, The AFC North, and a couple of other teams. No one in the national media knows crap about the Titans, and it shows every Sunday. I think its time for us to make a concerted effort to hold the national media to a higher standard. Call them out on their bull crap. Let them know when they spout off baseless opinions and state them as facts. Rise UP! Titan UP!

Short answer is “no”. the national media will never admit to being wrong, they’ll just change their perspective as to the current scenario without referencing their previous notions.

Honestly, my OP could have been the size of a Novela. Look at their coverage of the Cowboys. When, honestly, were the Cowboys actually relavent? The mid ‘90s? But, listening to the national media, you’d think they were in the Super Bowl hunt ever single week of the season. Quit pandering to the lowest common denominator!!!!!

Agree all around.
Cowboys have been competitive many seasons since being actual SB contenders but I will say their fan base is larger than most.

the media loves to hit on things that get a rise out of the most people. note the key repeat topics of every single day, lebron/Jordan, Brady/to old, still good, Brady/manning, etc.

Personally I think the power rankings are funny because people refuse to understand that a) its opinion, b) they purposely say things to get attention. Even worse, I saw a new power rankings of just QBs. Can’t remember the site but that should have zero views or at least zero comments but as expected, tons of feedback, the media won.

Speaking of power rankings, Carson Wentz is rated one spot below Tannehill in CBS’s latest power rankings. Just proves my point.

To be fair the Eagles and wentz looked pretty legit those couple of years. But ever since the injury wentz hasn't looked the same. Although it seems like the whole offense is always decimated with injuries.

See, you are making an assumption that the national media gives a crap about being accurate, or telling a complete picture of the league as a whole.

They don't. They care about money. Viewers and clicks. That is it. They would rather have 1,000 people click on or watch a bs story than 500 read or watch a good one.

That is why coverage is always massively skewed toward the the nfc east, Pittsburg, green Bay, San Fran... These teams have massive nationwide fan bases.

In the scheme of media, the Titans fanbase simply doesn't matter.

You are right of course, but nothing will change. I guess everyone once and a while it feels good to call for justice and shake an angry fist. But at the end of the day it is just sports and there are far greater injustices in the world that we should devote our energies to.

I guess I've given up. In my younger years I was a fist shaking ranter like yourself.

Frankly, I've just realized it's in my best interest mental health wise to ignore most things in the world, like politics for biggest example.

I agree with you for the most part but sports media will cover your team if you win. No one talked about KC on the national stage until Mahomes. No one talked about the Warriors on the national stage until they won. Patriots were an afterthought until Brady and Bill starting winning.

Some teams don’t need to win to be talked about. Like the Cowboys.

Star players and winning can change some of that. Titans have gotten more coverage this week than all year. Of course we are playing the Steelers but we are starting to become recognized nationally.

I am not a fist shaking ranter at all. My point was while this might feel good to bitch about it really doesn’t matter and there are a lot of others issues in the world to devote your energies to.

This is true. Big markets and fan bases always get talked about...and teams that win.

Years ago I would join the ranks about Titan lack of media respect, lack of prime time, lack of news, outside of Nashville.
Now I could care less about any of those things as long as they are winning.

I would say this year we are getting attention. Here in NJ on talk radio Tannehill and Henry have been multiple topics of conversation especially with the Tannehill Gase connection. If we find a way to win tomorrow and move to 6-0 by beating the Steelers and there so called dominant defense, the attention will continue to grow.

It's time for the media to also put some respect on Vrabel's name, he's the best head coach in franchise history, in only his third year, and he should win Coach of the Year this season.

Over the last 2 and a half years I would say the lack of media coverage and respect has driven this team to where it is today. That and some good coaching buts a fire into the guys to get it done. Was it last year or the year before we bounced over dallas on prime time.....that was bliss.

I listen to a lot of sports radio. Several hours a day. Pretty much every individual that comes on ESPN Radio or what the NFL station on XM raves about Mike Vrabel and talks about how Carson Wentz hasn't been what everyone expected.

Not really sure what is expected here.

I agree... I live on Long Island and WFAN is constantly talking about gase and Tannehill connection along with Henry. I love it.
