Zaven Collins reminds me of an athletic Vrable because he lined up a bunch at both inside LBer as well as lining up on the edge. He does a great job of dropping into passing lanes with good anticipation and can attack the qb.

I could see him being a guy that the Titans like because of his ability to play multiple positions.

We know that Dupree probably won’t be ready to take a full workload recovering from his ACL...Collins could certainly help rotate with him. Also neither of our starting LBers are signed for the 2022 season. So Collins could also be slotted in as a starting ILBer next yr.

Also Landry will be a FA next yr....so he could also be his replacement.

Given our 2022 LBer status he really does make sense

The Titans have met with him several times and he makes sense because of his ability to play multiple positions. He certainly fits Vrabel's mantra of "front multiplicity." He could step in next year if Evans doesn't return, and can line up outside and rush the passer to give Landry and Dupree a break.

There are other players I like more, but I definitely wouldn't hate this pick. Ideally, we would move back a few spots and still be able to get him. But if I was placing a bet on the most likely pick for the Titans in the 1st, it would be Collins.

Last year he had 4 sacks and 4 ints. They only played 8 games. He has 6 sacks total, but does do well in tackles for loss. He is a junior.

Sounds like an ILB to me.

Like another Tremaine Edmunds. People called him Edge because of his size. But that was not his best role.

Yes ILBer is his best spot so that he can impact more of the field.....I think his sack numbers would have been higher if he got more snaps just coming off the edge.

In high school he played QB as well as LBer....he rushed for over 4000yds and 54 TDs and threw for over 3000 yds and 32 TDs....pretty impressive

I'm cool with ILB in the first. Evans and Brown are both FA im '22. Unlikely to keep both. They could use Evans at OLB some too.

Why replace Landry and not resign him? Dude shouldn't be that expensive to keep and is a solid role player

I'm totally good with keeping Landry, but unless we tag him it isn't up to the Titans because he will be a FA....I was mainly just pointing out the fact that Landry/Brown/Evans will all be FAs and so obviously the GM needs to be planning for that and Zaven Collins is a unique guy who can play both inside and out
