Hmmm, So I guess there are never any optimistic Titans fans?

There a lot of optimistic Titans fans. Optimistic about Vince Young. But realistically, this team is a year away from making any kind of serious bid for the playoffs.

You act like Billy Volek is no question the better option to hold down the fort until Young is ready. Based on what, exactly? Having about 1/15th the starting experience as Collins? Having ended up on IR twice in 10 career starts and leaving a third game he started due to injury?

Well I don't know whether to blame Lamont or the scheme...

Yesterday's play was one player (Hill) blowing a man coverage and another (Thompson) taking a horrible angle on a play he really could have made after the catch.

In this particular instance, I wouldn't put it on Schwartz. And Thompson repeatedly takes bad angles. It's something they've harped on this offseason in particular, and he's still not getting it.

I'm really ready to see the next guy (Fuller? Lowry? TBD?) get a chance.

Dont get me wrong, I understand Thompson isnt that great and im not here trying to argue that. All im saying is AT THIS POINT IN TIME he is all we got until we find better. The topic started off by blasting Thompson for getting burned which wasnt true. ( on the pass anyway ). I think Vinny Fuller will be Thompson's replacement in the future.

not lamonts coverage. He was the one that stopped the TD. And the reciever had position on Lamont because he was coming back across the field. We did not give up another huge pay the rest of the time he was in.

I don't blame Thompson for the guy making the catch. Hill did blow the coverage right off the line. (Only redeeming thing for Hill: he motored down the field to help force the guy out of bounds before he scored.)

I do blame Thompson for once again, taking a questionable angle in his "backup" responsibilities from the deep safety spot. Turned what would've been a decent gain into a HUGE play that set up a TD.

IMO.

I've always said LT sucked and all he does is prove my point time and time again. There is no reason that he should ever get burned that bad. EVER! I wouldn't be surprised to see the Titans grab another safety this week. I'm not sure what, if any, quatlity safeties there are out there that will become available but Fish and Reese have both made it known that there will be some new faces picked up after these final cuts are made.

The play was a blown coverage by Hill, Did you even Watch the game ? For Christ Sakes !
no, it was pacman. they were in cover three. donald driver ran a drag route and pacman jumped it.

WR GREG JENNINGS

(On the first play from scrimmage, an 89-yard reception)

“They were in a cover three. It looked like Pacman (Jones) was supposed to drop deep, but he didn’t, they all sat and converged on Driver running a snag route. When I saw that, I knew I was going to come open, it was just a matter of getting the ball and making something happen.”

with that being said, lamont sucks.

CB Reynaldo Hill from the Tennessean:

On Green Bay's first play from scrimmage, two wide receivers lined up to the left.

Pacman Jones was across from the one nearest the sideline, and fellow Titans cornerback Reynaldo Hill was across from the one on the inside.

At the snap, Hill hesitated for a second to check quarterback Brett Favre and paid for it.

Receiver Greg Jennings blew past Hill up the sideline, ran under a bomb from Favre, cut across the field and made it 89 yards before safety Lamont Thompson forced him out.

"I just (messed) up on the play," Hill said. "I turned my eyes around, looked back at the quarterback and I thought (Jennings) was going another route."

Maybe Jennings thought Hill was Jones. But Schwartz also said it was a blown man coverage by Hill.

Dude, maybe you need to rewatch the play. Hill should have had the coverage but Thompson failed to lend support, then got juked big time, missing the open field tackle and had to give chase. The only thing he did right was catch him before the score. LaMont again missed a tackle.

never thought you'd be defending Lamont again :ha:
Well, my friend is WAY over him and I will defend him if he is getting a bad rap. I'll defend any of my boys if they warrant it. However, I'll give them the business if they warrant that, also.
