SUMMARY: It started out ugly for the Tennessee Titans and only got worst. Denver RB Mike Bell gashed the Titans for 73 yards on only 10 carries including two touchdowns while Titan reject RB Damien Nash had another 72 yards on 14 carries as the Broncos embarrassed the Titans 35-10 in the team's second preseason loss. Titans QB Billy Volek threw an interception and was sacked three times in four series while Bronco QBs Jake Plummer and Jay Cutler combined for a 128.5 passer rating in the first half. "All I can say … is I'm glad it is a preseason game,'' Coach Jeff Fisher said. "We obviously have some work to do.'' Rookie QB Vince Young was 11-of-19 passing for 125 yards including a 13-yard TD run while rookie RB LenDale White had 28 yards on seven carries.

Gee , ya think so Fisher ? I know, I know. Your going to take a good look at the film and get things corrected, yada, yada, yada.
How about starting off by making our defence just a wee bit tougher, by the way the big yellow signs we had in the games to help the defence that said "regular" arent working. Break these over Schwartz's head .

That should happen as soon as Haynesworth comes back.

I'm not ready to jump ship yet. But that was as ugly a game as I have ever seen.

Before we completely give up ( before the season even starts) Remember, we we're playing a very good team in their house. This can happen in football. Remember the Colts getting embarrassed by the Broncos 2 years ago during the regular season...Then coming back to beat them a week or two later in the playoffs...Or even last year when Peyton's protection broke down against the Steelers.

It seems to me the defense ( which last week I thought might be our salvation) Just couldn't find their heads or their hearts. or their footing. I still think they are better than last nights showing. Maybe it is coaching, as many on this board believe...If it is...God help these guys. It's going to be a long season.

The O had moments...but it's much harder to play offence on the road, and on a wet field.

Truth is I've very disappointed...It's OK to lose a preseason game...But not to this extent...I'll be watching, we'll see what happens

Fisher quote in ESPN article a few days ago:

"This team is going to be significantly better than the one we had on the field the last two years," Fisher promises.

Fisher blows that smoke out of his mouth all the time , im actually tired of hearing it, Shut up Fisher and prove it. Just shut up and prove it !

This is a team that has never played in Denver before. Let's just hope that the reason they played bad is because they weren't used to the lack of oxyen from being 5280 feet up. We'll see when the play Atlanta (who was #1 in rushing last year) in Nashville.

i'd say there's nothing to worry about. Denver's veteran and experienced offense vs. our young and re-vamped defense, you would assume they'd score 35 points on us like they did. I'm not worried, only pre-season. I'm glad VY started the whole game (or at least most of it) and got to rush for a TD and throw for 100+ yards. It would be AWESOME if he could start come opening day, but all depends if Coach Fisher thinks he's good enough to lead this team through the whole season and a playoff berth that ALL Titans fans haven't seen since like '03.

I'm the wrong person to ask. Since Tennessee has had the Titans I have paid less and less attention to college football with each passing year. I don't even know half of the big name players coming up. I'd be hard pressed even to name a few. When draft time approaches I go and read up on the names that end up being dropped and look at mocks when they come out. I don't know jack about evaluating talent over time in the NCAA. I let espn do my thinking for me on that. Yes, I know that is bad.

To me,the only thing more embarrassing than the way the team played is the way some of you guys ( fans..right) are so quick to turn on them.

If they get the stuffin' beat out of them by the Jets, and start 0-6...Then I'll apologize and say you're right...

And what's Fisher supposed to say to the press...Should he throw his team under the bus...I'm sure he has a few other things to say to the players in private.

Like the rest of you, I've seen the team be very good and very bad (1998-2005) But like a child gone bad I still love 'em...and hope for better days.

It's amazing, last week the giddiness in here had some Titan fans berating other Titan fans if they didn't believe we could win every game on the schedule.

This week we see some of those same Titan fans scouting college football for next years #1 pick.

I suppose if the Titans look good against Atlanta, next week they'll be predicting what teams we'll face in the Playoffs.

:suspect:

Who's turning on them? People are just talking about what they saw and it wasn't pretty. We are all here for better or for worse so let's not start up that there is a carpet bagging mentality going on or mutiny or the like. These people have been calling for Swartzie's head since I joined a year ago. The long term viability of Chris Brown has been called into question numerous times. All this game has done has revived some arguments from last season.

I haven't seen anyone posting here saying, "screw them. they are crap. pac is a thug, vince is a tard. brown is a wuss and henry is a druggie. What a bunch of losers! I'm going back to being a _____ fan."

This losing crap gets old. People are hungry to see something, anything that says things are looking up. I've never seen an exhibition game that exposed just how sorry a team is more than the game that I tuned into last night. That was horrible and now we have lost Odom for extended time. Yes I have read the frontpage and I see there is a brand new thread for it but Odom is hurt bad. He is no good to us until after the bye. He might be done for the season. His knee buckled bad. We are in trouble upfront and unless we get someone (#99 Long is out) we are freakin' screwed. Teams will run at us at 5 yards a pop all day long and beat us to death with a RB rotation. There will be no need to throw the ball against us.

Imagine playing Madden without play calling and just sitting in 4-3 without calling a coverage or blitz... that is what it is going to look like unless something drastic is done post haste. Once again, no one is turning on the team. If anything, the team is turning on certain coaches. One thing is certain. People are freaking out and that's ok. That is a sure sign that one cares... to freak out. Steve McNair freaked me out and see how wrong I was about that. :hmm:
