I'd a kept Nande for special teams at least this year. Hate to get taken in by measurables, but he's got them in spades. You know he's going to get snatched up on that alone. So that leaves us with 5 LBs? Bulluck, Sirmon, Thornton, Tulloch and Reynolds? I would have kept Nande and Randall I think. If they held on to Spencer that long, c'mon. Nande overpursed a lot, but think if you can get him to hone in. Probably our fastest LB. Just dunno. He must have really sucked to them. Must be more to it.

I would have let Calico play out his last year, either that or they were just keeping Orr real quiet. Probably doesn't matter. I still think we're very deep at the position. But my instinct still would have said keep Calico over Orr and PS the 7th rounder.

Kind of like how they feel they have enough muscle at RB among Brown, Henry, White and Hall to let all others go.

I wouldn't mind if they didn't shop Billy and stayed equally deep at QB.

Why Fleming?!?!!?! I can UNDERSTAND Calico...although i would have let him play out his contract and see how he does...but seriously why Fleming it makes no sense to me...i know Hall stepped it up but are we sure he's as good as we think hes going to be?

yes. he did more in four preseason games than fleming did all last year. and it's pretty hard to keep the fullback thats been hurt on and off for the past two years over the one who was on the field producing.

yeah agreed, i mean i dont mind having Hall as our fullback, its more that i didnt quite understand WHY we let Fleming go, but thats fine... and yes this time of year is horrible because some young men's dreams are destroyed....

Hall is a better leadblocker, Fleming is a better receiver out of the backfield, so it really boils down to the philosophy of the offence. I've also noticed Scaife getting action at FB and he's probably even better as receiver. Still I liked Fleming, but there just wasn't a need for him.

Fleming still had problems on blocking assignments, and rarely blew anybody up. He never liked the FB role in the first place. Hall has blown some guys up, and loves his role as FB.

Too bad for Calico, but it was his fault. Cutting a high pick always hurts, but if the Lions can cut Charles Rogers, we shouldn't feel too bad.

With Nande, so much for the "not cutting draft picks" rule.

Calico. what can I say. He's been draggin his feet for 3 years now, he could have at least drug his feet in the endzone. He might still be on the team. I will miss Flemming and Payton though. Good kids. They'll find a spot somewhere. We'll see them again.

calico- sucks

fleming- has shown flashes, but hall really stepped up

nande- he's been pretty much invisible.

Yeah, and I was surprised that both Ganther and Fleming were cut. Do they wanna make Henry a FB?
