I likes me some Vince but no shape, way, or form is he ready to start. He is still having a tough time with progressions. Let him master this in as low pressure situations as possible and THEN he'll be ready.

If we start him now, I believe he'll be another Mike Vick. Which isn't bad, but we've not maximized his potential with balance.

the backup is always the most popular QB :ha:

In that case BV's got nothing to worry about. Because if things continue on the way they are, VY will be starting before you know it. And, BV will be the most popular QB in Nashville.

Put me in this camp. I'm hoping Young doesn't see the field except in certain packages until late this season if at all.

Somebody please tell me how Volek has "sucked". No, he has not played perfect or even great. But who on this team has? Last night he went 14/22, for 141 yards. And that was with absolutely no running game. That doesn't say "suck" to me.

On the other hand, Young looked terrible on Saturday. He looked confused and indecisive. I think he has great potential, but he is nowhere near ready. And don't get me started on bringing in Collins. I will lose most, if not all, of my confidence in Reese if he brings this "winner" to TN. He is old and he doesn't know the offense. He is less mobile than Volek and he would be down and out in a matter of games. Stick with Volek and Young, and bring in some OL and DL help.

he might do better then Volek has.

Not even Tom Brady would make this a winning team in it's current state, so why waste money on Collins? I'd rather we play Billy and if he gets hurt Young and Mauck can alternate. We're not going to the playoffs anyways, so might as well just get our young players as much experience as possible.

because Volek has sucked and VY is not ready.
So, VY was ready when Fisher said we're going into the season with him #2, but now he's not ready?
He wasn't ready then, so why didn't they bring Collins in then so he could go through camp and Preseason to learn the system.

It's easy to blame the QB while overlooking other details, such as the OL playing poorly and the lack of a running game. Volek has completed 24 out of 38 passes in three preseason games, which are decent numbers.

maybe because VY hadn't played a game.

I don't want Collins, I am just speculation why we are considering him.

Billy isn't the problem, and Young will benefit more from sitting and learning in the long term. Let him pick it up slowly. I can't wait to see him, but I'd rather wait and actually watch him succede. He's had a few good plays in the preseason, but has not looked ready. Give him time.

I think they're bringing Collins in as insurance. We have the money, and at the rate our line is going Volek won't last more than a few weeks of these hits. I don't want to see Young stuck behind a horrible line for a long season.

Volek is the starter. No one has seen any reason to bench him in the preseason, he's looked fine. Not great, but fine. Certainly don't expect more from Young if you're arguing for throwing him in the fire.

These are the same people from last year that yelled to pull McNair out and put Volek in. Am I lying?

Aw come on. Volek has looked terrible.

I wanted him on the bench last year, but have no problem with him being the starting QB. Especially if the alternative is that washed up drunk Collins

But Voleks play in 2006 has been less than confidence building.

We're obviously not very good so what good does it do to start Volek with your future on the bench? I would rather watch VY learn and get better than watch us continually suck with Volek. At least if we started VY he would be ready to go next year with a full year experience under his belt.

I say throw him in fire.

At the least he could be used the opposite way EG was in his prime. That is EG sat when a game got away from Tennessee. When the Titans get behind by 3 scores it should be VY time.
