Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

I disagree that it is all OC play calling. I saw Billy hit the short route when Troupe was wide open about 15 yards further up the field. The play was there; he just made the wrong read...but in all fairness..no one makes the right play everytime. I would have liked to seen Billy play with Givens, Bennett and Wade all at the same time. I think our offense would look a little better with the full complement of receivers....but make not mistake.....Billy or Kerry will start...the other will be gone by fairly quickly. Remember, this is the team that cut O'Donnell just prior to the season starting after being a great backup behind McNair. I quote Jeff: "Again there’s also a chance that Matt Mauck is on the roster. " Vince will be #2, Kerry or Billy will be #1...the other will not be #3. There is tremendous pressure on Jeff to show dramatic improvement. The Titans are pulling out all of the stops, and this is the first of many things to come. I think we will see several DLs and at least 1 or 2 CBs added prior to game 1 even though they will all be starting from scratch with out team.

They need to keep lighting fires then, there are other behinds that are in need of some heat as well...

Really. Imo, Billy is the least of our worries with the play of Piller, Olsen, Schobel, Sirmon, Lamont, and maybe a few more. But coach makes it sound like most of these guys are safe :suspect:

Well are they really? Are we hearing the truth? Drama :whoop:

Yeah right lol This signing means many things. They are not happy with Volek, and also Young. There is no point in signing Collins if he will not start, because right now he is the best Qb on the team.

It is never a smart move with one preseason game left to play to get in the head of the guy that was the slotted started. Voleks confidence is shot and Collins is stepping in.

Save me Jebus!

I think the timing of all this has to do with Underwood coming in.
Who knows what's going on behind the scenes, but looks like Bud is fed up and is sending a new sheriff in town to clean it up.

Exactly. Now we are going to have a guy that will have looked at our play book for all of 2 weeks leading our team? :hmm:

I'll bet KC has been looking at our play book as long as McNair has been looking at Baltimore's.

Okay, now just take a moment to ask yourself: How many times since Chow has been here has there been a short-yardage pass on 3rd-and-long? Heck, I even remember Hentrict doing it on a trick play.
Chow's approach has not served well in the NFL. You know it...I know it...the American People know it....

If you think Norm Chow is inadequate then start lobbying right now for a replacement. I been trying to get rid of Schwartz for 3 years now.

Back to Young and Volek. Maybe the signing of Collins has more to do with Young than Volek. I am really cluless and baffled by the signing of Collins. But my thought is that BV is really a rookie QB. Really, what can he teach Young? BV learned by watching McNair. VY is suppose to learn from someone who has only played what 5 mores NFL games than him? Maybe they just want someone to help Vince rather than replace Volek. It's possible.

I don't believe it can be a coincidence. I'll bet Underwood is the new 'Diamond'. Prediction....Reese go bye bye for 07.

Bizz,
Where are these throws you're talking about? Are you sure you aren't remembering mac from last year? The main thing I've seen from Billy is decent execution of bad playcalling, with some drops by WR thrown in. The guy hasn't been making many bad throws. Why should KC be the presumed starter? I have no problem with bringing KC in after a few games if Volek can't do it with a full game, but not yet. I have no problem with testing him, but Billy has earned the right to start week 1, especially since KC just got here.
