Preseason is upon us - the Titans play their first game tomorrow but it's time to be real about this season.

PFF is grading the Titans line as #27th in the league.

Lewan, Jones/Brewer, Jones, Davis, Radnuz

This will be the worst line blocking for The King in his Titan's career to-date. He also is 28 years old heading into the season - meaning his and this offensives window is quickly getting smaller.

AJ is gone. Tanny's BFF. Indications that Burks has been very meh in camp and is listed with the 2nd and 3rd team (which we all know is just a Vrabel thing with the rooks).

Schedule is very hard (yes it was last year as well - even when Henry went down) but no one can expect them to play like that again all things considering.

The gut punch of the #1 seed hangover may still be clouding my judgement and excitment for this team - but after that happened and the moves OR LACK of moves that were made this off-season ... are people really thinking SB?

I mean Westbrook-Ikene is going to be a main piece of this offense - that's all you need to know.

The positives? That defense is going to be upper-level and as usual will be slept on by pundits.

unless teams forget to stack the box against henry in the playoffs i dont see how we can keep up with the high-powered offenses/qbs in the afc right now once we hit playoffs.

division title is possible, maybe even likely. but beyond that... nah

This mostly accounts for only one side of the ball. As long as you have a full cup over on Defense, you’re not sitting too bad off.

I’ll agree this defense has to be dominant for us to even think of sniffing a conference championship game. Too many questions marks on offense for us to have success, without the defense being able to carry the team.

We have questions marks at all 5 spots on the OL, but I’ll sit closer to full and wager they rank higher than 27 at season end.

11-6 AFC South Champs again, make it back to the championship game and finally remind all the Bills hype train that they’re still at least second fiddle.

It’s a little early to say this years Oline will be one of the worst in the NFL if you ask me. I don’t see it. And we could get a pleasant surprise with Radunz this year.

I think the first few games of the year could be a little ugly until they start to gel, but I’m optimistic that the Oline will be ok. I have more concerns about the WR group.

The Titans tend to shock the world including their own fans (for better or for worse). Every year we aren’t “supposed” to make the playoffs or have a chance of winning a game. Yet we have had some great seasons and exciting playoff success. Chiefs, Ravens (MVP Lamar), & Patriots on the road were awesome wins.

I’ve been tired of hearing Henry’s age or miles for the past 3 years. He’s not a normal NFL RB and should not be considered the same. Henry is a future hall of gamer and he will continue to prove that. Losing AJ does hurt but let’s not act like any of our teams have had above average pass catchers. The group we have right now should do just find with a solid leader in Robert Woods, reliable TE in Hooper, and 3 wild card rookies that should each show flashes in Chig, Burks, & Phillips. I don't think our Oline will be elite by any means, but I do think we have 5 solid starters. And we have a QB that absolutely blew it in the playoffs last year. But the rest of his time on the Titans has been better than expected. Tannehill has been a winner here, and I think he still has some high end football left. We got the damn #1 seed last year with no offensive weapons and a likely worse defense.

Speaking of the defense this is the most stacked we’ve been since Kerry Collins was a QB. We have an absolute monster in the trenchers and 2/3 legitimate pass rushers to get to the quarterback. Our safety tandem is one of the best in the league, we have a corner trio with huge upside and athleticism. Also have above average players at inside linebacker. The defense will be average at worse but has the potential to be elite if we force turnovers and get to the QB.

Last but not least we have one of the best fucking coaches in the league. Vrabel knows how to win a dog fight and he can game plan with the best of them. He will absolutely have us in the playoff hunt all year and capable to make a run.

Will we win the Super Bowl? Probably not. But I guarantee we will beat some of the best teams in the league again this year and be a team no one wants to play in a win or go home. Or maybe it all clicks and we do go all the way. We’ve been knocking on the door for years now

none of y'all mentioned that Ryan Tannehill is still the QB too lol.....

teams are going to continue to make Tannehill beat them.

But hopefully with the defense coming along, we can scrounge a couple extra drives on offense.

No need to mention him, taken into account.
Still 11-6/12-5 and repeat AFC South champs enroute to beating buffalo in the AFCCG.

Hey, hey, hey! This looks like a 'half-glass-full-take!". There's no room for that!

;)

this thread title is bugging me.. i don't know if it's an ode to Vince's "pretty real good" or what.. but it's "glass half empty"

Not everyone wins it all… ask anyone. Having a seat at the table matters more than anything! You a half empty guy? If so, stay out of my foxhole!

Lol hey man if you enjoy the torture and the imminent doom of the Titans year after year after year then by all means - get your hopes up - just have a ton of beer ready for the outcome
