Does everyone realize that every Titan draft pick last year was on offense? I get that the offense was horrible (much of that can be blamed on coaching too) and we need to upgrade. We can't neglect the other side of the ball completely though or we will have a disaster of a defense in a year or two.
Not saying we have to go D on every pick, or in the first, we just cannot ignore it again. Our Secondary is trash, it will take FAs and draft picks to fix.
So, who are some of the defensive prospects you like? Interested in hearing about DBs because I don't seem to know them very well yet.
Up front, Brandon Dorlus is an interesting mid-high round prospect who could be replacement for Denico Autry. Undersized DL who can play inside and outside. Good to have guys like that next to the big boys.

I've always thought you need at least one DB in every draft class. Should probably have one OL too
FWIW Titans in no position to be drafting like they are a good team - LOL
*One roster quality DB and OL every draft class.I've always thought you need at least one DB in every draft class. Should probably have one OL too
They don’t all have to be starters, but they need to contribute. We’ve failed at that part.
Our defense isn't bad, aside from the secondary. We certainly need to invest in secondary either in FA or in the draft.
We need a replacement at DT/NT since we moved on from both Tart and Jones during the season and Autry is a FA. Bringing back Autry should be a priority, imo.
We need to add some quality depth at LB and make a decision on Al-Shaair. Wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back on team friendly deal but given he was 5th in the NFL in total tackles, that may not be possible.
But overall, we have the pieces in place for a solid defense. Can't ignore it in the draft, but also not as high of a priority as OL and WR, imo.

Although last years draft was all offense I think you will see the same again this yr in the 1st and 2nd rnds.... you just have to get Levis his weapons to grow with and the protection that he needs.
Should be able to improve LB/CB in FA.

Sweat is one I would consider drafting in Round 2. Put him next to Simmons and our d line would eat.
DB is most likely going to be addressed in FA I would imagine. Our DC was the DB coach in raven-land and i think all the CBs there are free agents except marlon humphrey. So, who are some of the defensive prospects you like? also Geno stone (safety) had a breakout year and is a free agent from there as well
to be fair... the seahawks got their actual DC so we will likely be competing with them for these players
Is there a track record of players following assistant coaches or positional coaches?DB is most likely going to be addressed in FA I would imagine. Our DC was the DB coach in raven-land and i think all the CBs there are free agents except marlon humphrey.

It’s cool when a player says he likes playing for X coach, but I don’t think this following situation actually happens very often, unless it’s Art Smith.
I think they follow the money and we have that plus now we have coaches they were familiar with which can’t hurt as long as they liked themIs there a track record of players following assistant coaches or positional coaches?

Kris Jenkins... He is being very underrated...
He was used to eat blocks primarily in college. Similar to how we use Simmons...
Put them next to each other, and watch the magic

Anyone think drafting Dallas Turner is in play? Good chance we could take the top defensive player in the draft at a premium position.
We need a LT so we can determine if Levis is a keeper. Near impossibility that we go D with our 7Anyone think drafting Dallas Turner is in play? Good chance we could take the top defensive player in the draft at a premium position.
If Alt is gone then your options are Right Tackles or Olu who is sliding a bit.We need a LT so we can determine if Levis is a keeper. Near impossibility that we go D with our 7
I want the top LT in the draft too. But we also need young defensive playmakers
Alt will be our man..... Bears, Washington, Pats go QB... Cards don't need OT and have need at WR, Chargers don't either and have big need at WR, Giants have 2 young OTs in Thomas and Neal....so unless a team trades up to grab Alt then he will be ours.
I agree that these next 2 yrs are finding out if Levis is our franchise QB. Defense is just gonna have to wait... if we don't trade our 2nd for Sneed then I certainly could see us using that pick on defense.

Starting to think we go LB in round 2, given our LB depth is pretty horrendous and we have done nothing to address it in FA so far. Gibbens and Murray just isn't a duo you can afford to run out there on a weekly basis.
Edgerrin Cooper and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. are 2 of my favorites. I really love Payton Wilson as well, but I worry about his durability. He definitely has some Luke Kuechly vibes though. He is just all over the field on tape.
I like Junior Colson and Cedric Gray as well, but not early in the 2nd round.

If we go S/CB, there a lots of good options with our 2nd pick too.
I was hoping Nate Wiggins would be a day 2 pick, but given he ran a 4.26 at the combine, I highly doubt he will be available at pick 38.
I have seen Cooper DeJean mocked anywhere from top 10 to mid 2nd round given that he is sort of a tweener CB/S and is coming off a major injury. If by chance he falls to us, I would run up to the podium with this pick. This kid is an absolute playmaker and a ballhawk. And he has great kick/punt return skills to boot. He reminds me so much of Honey Badger.
Obviously the Arnold, McKinstry, and Mitchell are on this list, but I don't envision any of them last to 38.
