Nashville Skyline to get new Skyscraper in Signature Tower

Nashville Skyline to get new look soon once the new Signature Tower is built. From what I've read the building will make Nashville the 3rd tallest city in the SouthEastern US
- pushing Atlanta back to 4th
this building is to be 1,047 feet tall (so I guess that qualifies)

I like this building (for those of you not familiar with the skyline, it's the one that looks like the Chrysler building (so I've heard people compare it to) I think it kinda looks like the Empire State myself)

it's a mix use building, the top 25 floors are upscale homes
the middle section is office space
the lowerhalf is to be a boutique hotel
and the bottom 3 levels or so are to be retail, including a grocery

this is a close up view
Signature Tower is here ^

This pic really shows off the scale of the Signature Tower when comparing it to the Bellsouth building. I like this pic because it shows off a few more properties that have to be built . The new Sounds Ballpark is located at the lower middle (or what I like to call 'downsatge center').

The Arena is far left, the Coliseum is far right.
sorry for the width, but I thought it prudent to include both Sports landmarks

The Signature Tower is around here.. ^

The current Skyline

I'd like to see the Tower from this angle
(whenever one surfaces I'll post it here)

if the tower were in this pic, it would reach the top margin of this image

if the tower were here it would be here ^

There are 5 properties in pic #2 that have yet to be built or completed
can you find all 5
hint: 2 sets of 2 are together

Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell has proposed a new downtown minor league baseball stadium, with associated development, to be located on the site of the old Nashville Thermal Transfer Plant.

This 12,500-seat ballpark on the banks of the Cumberland River will be a cornerstone of downtown development, generate new tax revenue for the city, and provide affordable, exciting entertainment to families.

:cool2:

this is a pic of Bellsouth Park... It was built a few years ago for the single A Chattanooga Lookouts... Cinci Reds farm club.

It's half the size of the park to be built in Nashville...
I will mention that it has brought tons of development.
If you were to compare this old picture with one taken today you would see just how much the riverfront has changed since the stadium. I really wish the picture was current... the real life version is impressive.

did not take the pics
impossible as these pics clearly show a building that has yet to be built

but which pic were you referring to?
i'll tell ya, I do a bit of processing using iPhoto
I generally bump up the exposure using software

I didn't even pay attention to the new bldg....:sad2:
I was more interested in how many seconds the shutter speed was set at for the night shot

sorry for the image
part of it is on white and the other half on clear, so it doesn't show up as good on blue
it is a graphic that is part of the Tennessean article today listed below

anyway, it looks like this building is to be 1 foot taller than the Chrysler Building
