Titans | Looking at Greisen
Mon, 13 Mar 2006 14:48:32 -0800

The Tennessee Titans will meet with free agent LB Nick Greisen (Giants). He is scheduled to arrive in Tennessee Monday evening, March 13.

Found this over at Titanscentral, looks like this guy wants to play MLB and the Giants won't give it to him. If he's signed, does this mean Sirmon is gone?

in todays paper it said Reese and Greisen's agent had exchanged contract proposals. Lets hope it leads to something good. By letting Mcnair and Sirmon go we have this guys money with some left over for Law and maybe a veteran LT

Dude, you should change your screen name to Anti-Mcnair. Talk about a hater!

just for laughs eh,

I just think McNair/Sirmons money can be put to better use by letting them go and spend it on a veteran MLB, CB and LT, getting 3 players by letting 2 go is a good deal. No hate just business. To many people want to remember the glory days and not think what is best for the future. McNair isn't in the future

I agree with him for once about the McNair issue. I appreciate all he has done but the truth is he has caught the disease and that is the Eddie George Syndrome. He thinks he is worth more than he really should get. All I saw from him the last two years is him on the bench injured or throwing ball at our WR Corp's feet.

I wish he would get it in his head but if it is needed we will release him.

And I will say this too, if he does get cut and then he signs with the Ravens. Then I will all respect for him as a player.

We will sign him...

That will give us a significantly upgraded linebacker corps and makes it less urgent to draft players at that position. OT in rd 2 seems very likely now.

I've always liked the idea of drafting an OL in round 2 anyway. Either OG or OT depending on who is the best available. Olsen is not getting any younger (or better) and I'm not sure about Pillar being the answer either.
If a guy with similar talent and potential as Roos is there in the 2nd it could be a nice pickup. If we can find who can play RT this year and also backup LT we could be set at OT for year to come.

We could then focus on building depth at LB in the later rounds.

I've always thought that drafting an offensive lineman in the 2nd round is the safe option

Back to topic, I think its great that Grieson will probably sign with us.
Bye Bye Sirmon

been gone all weekend any news on the Titans signing Greisen
I missed you man!:winker:
I haven't seen anything or heard anything yet, of course, I do live in a Houston suburb...so you'd probably hear it first.

I think teams are waiting until after the draft to see if they can get a good MLB before they pay Greisen. It's a very well stocked draft in terms of LBs.
