SUMMARY: Titans QB Steve McNair will be at Baptist Sports Park today for the first time since being barred April 3 as his grievance against the club will be heard by arbitrator John Ferrick at 9:30 a.m. NFL Players Association general counsel Richard Berthelsen will represent McNair in the matter. The quarterback and his agent, James "Bus" Cook, will attend the hearing as well. The Titans will be represented by league management council attorney Dennis Curran, as well as attorney Dan Nash, Titans general counsel Steve Underwood and general manager Floyd Reese. While both sides will present their cases to Ferrick today, chances are a decision in the matter won’t be forthcoming immediately. "Our experience is [a decision has] very seldom been at that moment," Reese said. "It's been later on — a few days, a few weeks or whatever. Historically for us, it's not been something that's happened immediately. Could it happen [today]? I guess it could."

Today's Tennessean reports that Feerick's decision must be made within seven days.

I am not sure the arbitrator will say you have to trade or release him. He will rule that the Titans did right or wrong by saying he couldn't work out there. It isn't like the Titans locked him out of the bldg, they just said he couldn't work out there. The media made it sound like he was totally locked out.
I think most people know where the Titans are coming from. Most are just upset it was Mcnair that it was done to. How upset would they have been if he had hurt himself while working out and the Titans had to pay all of the 23 million.

The Titans don't HAVE to do anything. We can hold on to McNair even if he doesn't agree to new terms. It wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.
