The Texans already have one of the best return guys in the NFL. I doubt they use Bush in that capacity because it just opens up more possibility of him getting hurt. I could see using Bush as a RB/Slot WR. A guy with his versatility would put a great amount of pressure on the defense.
Trying to figure out how this draft is going to shake out is a midn twister for sure. In alot of ways we are in a great postion at #3 because we will get a #1 quality player for #3 money. If we do trade out we should get a king's ransom.

Serious question - Has trading out ever worked for Floyd Reese?
He seems more keen on getting as many picks he can rather then getting quality players.
The Troupe draft was a complete crapper, with only Troupe being the good pickup.

I think it's too early to tell if the Troupe draft was a "complete crapper". LaBoy has started to come on, Troupe has shown flashes as has Starks. You can't truly evaluate a draft until three or four years afterwards anyway. The average Tiatn fan still expect every pick to come in and blow up the league like Kearse did. There's a problem with that though; reality.

Now the 2003 draft might be more of a "crapper" if Woolfolk, Calico and Brown all are let go within the next few years.

IMO we might have taken Troupe or Watson anyway. We could question some of the picks after Troupe but the trade itself was brilliant IMO.
Also the picks have not been that bad. What if we drafted a DE that contributed 8.5 sacks this year and 2 fumble recoveries for TDs. Would that be a "quality" player? Those are the combined stats of LaBoy and Odom at the RE postion. Starks had a little bit of an off year from what we expected but he was a guy we wouldn't have had at all and he is one of our starting DTs. Certainly he is a better every down player than Long or Clauss. These guys still have some upside as well IMO.
I really think Texans are going to take Bush or trade down, despite public clamor for Young.

In hindsight, considering Woolfolk hasn't worked out Gamble might have been a decent choice but Reese wasn't looking at using a high draft pick on a CB. We desperately needed to rebuild the DL and we really needed a TE.
Troupe will be a special player IMO and all the extra picks will be gravy.
We knew going into that draft we were going to get a TE to replace Wychek. The only suitables were Troupe and Watson.
