Question:

what is the difference between deathcore, metalcore and hardcore?

Please cite examples and rational explanations as I can't get any from anyone that's into that kind of music.

Deathcore = I don't listen to that but it's like Dethklok best I figure, little to no melodies or much variation in type of music or vocal range.. would be my thinking.

Metalcore = August Burns Red - Composure.. mix of metal guitars and the drums of hardcore

Hardcore = punkish, fast paced nonsense.. I guess something like this

What I listed is "post-hardcore", which has melodies and harmonies and has alot more to it than just hardcore.. at least to me. Screamer and clean vocals, drums have more than one pace or style, guitars have more than one chord.. etc. I don't really listen to deathcore or hardcore.. and very little metalcore.. most of it's "post hardcore" =/
