Due to popular demand this thread has been redone for two reasons:
1) This is a public poll.

2) It has been brought to my attention that some found the other poll offensive and chose not to participate.

Now that this has been said go and make your public vote.
It's time to take sides and decide which side of the line in the sand you are on.

This poll will be open for 180 days.

I expect him to play at a high level.....but that'll be on Special Teams.....and in the nickle if he wins the job and can keep it.

If we don't, then it is apparent that Jim Schwartz has no idea what the hell he is doing, and it doesn't matter who we draft, they aren't going to be utilized to their potential.

that's because he came in fresh, and wasn't diluted by the coaching staff. That's our only shot at rookies, play em right off the bat so they actually learn something.

it's amazing a 7th round pick had ANY success in this defense

Hill was drafted for his play-making ability. Fuller was drafted for his football smarts. Complete opposites of Andre Woolfolk.

Hammer time.:banana::nana2::banana:

I don't think he'll be the shutdown corner they hoped for when they drafted him, but I saw enough of Woolfolk in '03 and '04 to know that he's a much better player than what he showed last year. Even if he doesn't reclaim a starting position at corner, if he can be a solid nickel, then he'll provide an important piece of the puzzle.

(Personally, I still think he'd make a better safety than cornerback...but the Titans' coaching staff isn't known for their flexibility or outside-the-box thinking, and I'd be surprised if it even occurs to them that he could be a good safety.)

how is it that a couple of fans can figure it out and "professional" coaches cannot ?

He couldn't be any worse. Safety is usually where Corners who can't cover end up. I'm sure its been discussed. There aren't many options at this point.

Would making him a Special Teams captain be considered a promotion? Probably by some.

Woofolk is only going to be nickle/dime depth for the Titans or some other teams. I just have not seeen the natural instincts or physical toughness needed by a corner or safety. He is a great athlete, but he he has not shown that he is a defensive player.

Who on our defense has shown this physical toughness? The toughess player is probably PacMan and a lot of fans hate him!

I actually have not met anyone at the games who "hated" him, pretty much consessius that he was a dissappointment and hope for improvement, but nobody I met said they "hated" him.

And I agree the toughest part of the Titan D is writing in mirrored hiroglyphics.
I've borken up preteen girly pillow fights with more intent to destroy than the Titan D.

Woolfolk looks like a guy who was a WR in college and got moved to CB. I'm not sure he does much more at safety but his chances are better there than CB.

That's because he was a WR converted to CB in college.

To piggyback off your statement....the same can be said for almost the entire defense. Even the players who use to be good (Tank Williams) aren't anymore. They have all have been disappointing. Is it Floyd? I don't think so, unless he developed a rapidly progressive case of Alzheimer's.

I blame Schwartz:hmm:

Ok, in a later post, you said you really don't know so here is a URL for you:

2002 DEFENSE
INFORMATION PROVIDED BY:
University of Oklahoma Sports Information Department

STRENGTHS: At one time last season, three Sooners were on the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List. Williams eventually won the honor, but it was ironic that some of his stiffest early season competition came from within the Sooner locker room. Williams, who bypassed his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, is the only one of three not back for this season. All three players who drew starting assignments at cornerback last season return in 2002. Derrick Strait has developed into one of the country's top cover men. Just a junior, he already has played in 26 games. One of the best-known two-way players is Andre Woolfolk, who split time at corner and receiver .....

Of course the Roy Williams they are discussing is the Dallas Cowboy, horse collar specialist
