1. Any list that omits Nolan's Batman movies is garbage.
2. Have you watched Spider-Man 2 recently? I know I thought it was pretty cool when it came out in high school, but I watched it relatively recently and couldn't understand why I ever liked that series.
I'm just burnt out on the superhero movies. No mas.
Batman is DC, not Marvel.
Yeah, but Batman wasn't listed under "other not made by Marvel but still good."
The real list should look something like:
The Dark Knight
Batman Returns
Batman Begins
X-Men 2
X-Men: First Class
X-Men
Iron Man
Hellboy
Unbreakable
The Incredible Hulk

I am going to see "What To Do When You're Expecting" Chick Flick Indeed!

I think he meant Marvel characters in movies that Marvel didn't make (eg. the new Spiderman is being made by Sony)
I did mean Marvel movies.
Movies based off a comic?
There are many good ones and most don't contain superheroes.
Nolan's Batman trilogy is the pinnacle of superhero movies.
They are damn good movies on their own.

Batman Returns is tough to watch 20 years later. It isn't that good.

The Watchmen sucked
Both Hell Boy movies were really good. I don't think many people expected much from them.
A History of Violence
Road to Perdition
American Splendor
Excellent movies based off of comics.

Hellboy was great. I fell asleep during Hellboy II and I NEVER fall asleep during movies.
I was really into the elves..the entire story and premise was so good. Ron Pearlman is also a fkin badazz. Final fight was epic.
I think the thing that got me was the elves. I just don't like elves. They don't interest me at all. Movies with elves just bore the hell out of me. Lord of the Rings was unbearable for me to watch. They're just stupid.

I own Road to Perdition and had no idea it was based off of a comic.
I didn't know A History of Violence was either. I never saw it, but wanted to.

Lord of the Rings is horrible. I gave the first one a chance and fell asleep multiple times throughout. So I gave it another chance. Same thing happened. Then I was stupid enough to watch the second movie. Same results. I was, however, wise enough to refrain from watching the third.
Probably because he wasn't SLJ.
Yep, you got it. Comic book characters are not real people. Good job buddy.

I'm saying traditionally thats why pretty much every figurine you see is the white Nick Fury. I'm sure that has changed some since the movie though.

Actually, Nick Fury was black from the start, the racists just wouldn't let their kids play with a black action figure.
I mean, how many white guys do you know named Nick?... Psshhh... clearly of African Origin.

Nick Fury was always a middle-aged white guy with an enlarged prostate. That's where the "fury" came from. That guy from Terra Nova would be the perfect Nick Fury not Sam Jackson. He should be playing Black Goliath or Black Panther - though all he really ever does is play Sam Jackson. That Siri commercial.. ugh..
I suppose The Hulk will be purple in future incarnations.

Why is this difficult?
Ultimate Nick Fury is black and looks identical to Sam Jackson.
There are themes from the ultimate universe in all of Marvel's movies.
Plus, people love Sam Jackson.

This. Original Fury's popularity waned so much that they could only do a TV movie staarring The Hoff.
Over the past SEVERAL years, Marvel reinvigorated their titles by reimagining them with The Ultimate Universe. The popularity of these titles were amazing. Great stories.
Nick Fury was, literally, based on Sam Jackson.
Cap's look was based on Ultimate Cap.
Black Widow and Hawkeye's styles were based on Ultimates.
Hulk was a biproduct of Banner trying to recreate the Super Soldier Syrum using gamma radiation - totally an Ultimate Universe idea.
Not the Marvel from the past 60 years...
Hell, Batman used to gun down criminals all the time. Why doesn't he do that in the movies?
Hulk was a bi-product of Banner trng y
