I agree but I feel like that’s an extreme change in price. I won’t but that a graded 10 is $1600 but ungraded its $80. Ungraded, that’s probably still a $1000 comic.

in baseball cards (all card collecting) this is totally an area some people just more sophisticated in than others.
in theory only a PERFECT example would earn a 10 meaning 99 out of 100 leave the printing process flawed in some manner, cut off set, ink spot, roller damage - whatever
why a 10 worth a huge premium
ALSO there is the number of 10s out there... which is a whole other issue.
grading companies track this and at some level the knowledge is public. Not sure if paid or free. Anyways you could have a mundane card from the 80s but have 1 of only say half a dozen 10s because no sane person has a 1988 Topps Steve Farr graded

thing worth a nickle if you can find a buyer... so a 10 would be worth WTF ever a person could get out of it.
getting back to comics... I am unsure the standard they are graded ... every page inspected or is it a cover closed front/back inspection???

Bottom line for valuable comics/cards a 10 grade can be crazy multiples above raw

the way modern baseball card sets are done it is IMPOSSIBLE to collect a complete set... with the variations both printing & color and 1 of 1's... It canna' be done cap'tan!
Yeah but are they dilapidated buildings that made you wonder "is this the day I die in a building collapse?" every time you walk in?
I really don’t know all the criteria for comics either, I did know about sports cards criteria.
For the Steve Farr thing, just as example, both graded and ungraded will go for whatever someone is willing to pay.
I really only meant that the comic example likely has a general value both graded/ungraded and at various condition levels listed as kind of a starting point.
I just would think that a graded 10 vs a potential 10 but ungraded are so significantly different in price. Graded fetching 1600, ungraded only 80. I’d say the 80 is an absolute steal, get it graded immediately and even if not a 10, probably jumps over 4 digits. Because of that, I’d think the ungraded seller wouldn’t get less than at least upper 100’s unless were talking about something in flat out bad condition.
