I'm soooooooooooo cereal
Beware the Man-Bear-Pig. It will come and eat us all. I am super dupper cereal on this one. Why won't anyone listen to me!!
Easy, in a wishbone formation White off the center or Travis off the tackle or Young inside the DE or a pitch to Brown to run outside the WR.:brow:
I would like to see someone try a HB option.
Hand off to White. He heads inside the DE. The hole collapses and he pitches out to Brown. Probably will not work but it would be a fun play to watch. Plus it does not set out QB up to get nailed. It might take too long to develop though.

...or the QB keeps the ball White runs through the hole out to the flat and we go back to the bootleg for at least 10 yards.
Fisher wants to run the ball?
No sh--!!
Let's just do whatever it takes.

once a game out of the shotgun.Titansfan10 said:how are we going to run the option?!
I don't care if it's 49-47 or 3-0...I just want to see some wins. As a rule, being able to control the clock ( read hold the ball) helps a weaker team have a chance to win.

Sounds like a plan to me it worked at Texas
problem...college it works because your offense takes advantage of the lack of speed...in the NFL everyones fast...try it on dwight freeney or julius peppers...uhh and what about how fast the linebackers are in the NFL...our very own Keith Bulluck would blow up a team that tried to do that and now with David Thornton...no team could do it...Bulluck's chased down Vick when Vick tries to get the the edge because Bulluck has amazing sideline to sideline speed....so honestly i dont see how we could run it succesfully...pitching that is i guess VY could do the option read but NFL defenses are a lot more complex and that may not even work..

because not every team has keith bulluck playing linebacker. it's not going to work against defenses that have great speed like the colts, but it will work against teams with bad defensive speed like new orleans.Titansfan10 said:problem...college it works because your offense takes advantage of the lack of speed...in the NFL everyones fast...try it on dwight freeney or julius peppers...uhh and what about how fast the linebackers are in the NFL...our very own Keith Bulluck would blow up a team that tried to do that and now with David Thornton...no team could do it...Bulluck's chased down Vick when Vick tries to get the the edge because Bulluck has amazing sideline to sideline speed....so honestly i dont see how we could run it succesfully...pitching that is i guess VY could do the option read but NFL defenses are a lot more complex and that may not even work..
Well yeah, but we already know we'd be set if we could just play new orleans every week...
thats not my point, bulluck is an animal...but the NFL itself is way faster than college, only the best make it....every NFL team has fast enough linebackers to prevent the option, the only option that would work is most likely the zone read...option read whatever you want to call it...no pitching will work, if it would, why doesnt ANY other team do it? Why has it been nearly 20 years since someone has done it in the NFL?

Dallas ran it with Carter a few years back. It did not work but they used it at least a few times.
because teams put a premium on their QBs and dont want them to take more hits than they need to. not to mention there havent been many QBs with vince's ability to run AND pass.Titansfan10 said:thats not my point, bulluck is an animal...but the NFL itself is way faster than college, only the best make it....every NFL team has fast enough linebackers to prevent the option, the only option that would work is most likely the zone read...option read whatever you want to call it...no pitching will work, if it would, why doesnt ANY other team do it? Just so everyone knows.........the type of option Fisher has mentioned is a zone read option. This means the QB takes the snap (usually in Shotgun) and either hands it to RB going one way, or keeps its and goes the other. There isn't a pitch involved. If I remember correctly, the QB reads the DE to make his decision. Just so we're all on the same page.
And Young can fake the handoff both ways excellently as well. If you look at the times he used it (90% of the time) he completely through off the defense whether he kept it or gave it away.wplatham said:Just so everyone knows.........the type of option Fisher has mentioned is a zone read option. okay that was my point...there will be no pitching involved...i was trying to say that the NFL is a little bit too fast paced to be pitching the ball around...-
I'm not sure if the option works or not...But wouldn't you love to have seen it with McNair when he was in his running prime ? Maybe they did try it and I missed it... We will see it with VY at least once or twice. Should be fun to watch. Of course, it it blows up twice...it might not be so fun to watch a third time.
