Hey Man U keep lovin’ JRob as elite. He’s slightly above average GM. We can
disagree.
We can but to say he’s responsible for hiring the OC is just wrong. No truth to that statement at all.

the GM is responsible for personnel hiring and firing. He may be his choice to yield to the HC's preference in regards to assistants, the the General Manager is RESPONSIBLE for the personnel. So there is absolute truth to the statement.
I get you like JRob. A lot. But he isn't elite as you frequently debate. He's just above average, maybe even good. But he is guiding the ship right now, locked us into an inescapable contract with Tannehill (over Brady). Tannehill is his QB. The OL and K problems are his.

Vrabel is responsible for the coordinators. Every head coach in the league is also. Period.
I have been critical of the Tannehill contract since he signed it. The reason we can’t escape the deal now is because of the restructure (which every fan was upset with JRob for not doing earlier)
remember the kick the can down the road? Well now you’ve caught up to the can.
This is the first “bad” contract he’s signed with a player. And Tannehill is not even that bad. He’s just not going to get us to a SB. This is our peak with him at QB.
You’ve changed your mind like a teenage girl on JRob the last 2 weeks so I think you need to let the emotions of last night wear off first lol
What Exactly Does Each Member of an NFL Team's Front Office Do?
Clearly, the general manager can’t possibly handle all of these tasks personally. He divvies up the labor amongst his other front office staffers, but the general manager ultimately is accountable for all of the team’s personnel decisions.

I haven't changed my mind. I grade JRob on his performance. It's a dynamic process as it should be. You, on the other hand, are locked in defending JRob as "elite", despite the success or failures of his performance.
And you are just flat wrong if you thing the GM is not RESPONSIBLE for all team personnel hiring/firing. That's the GM's job description. Some GM's allow the HC to heavily influence the hire or contract renewal, but ultimately the GM bears the responsibility. That's how it works. For example, who do you think is tasked with firing an assistant for a breach of contract or policy and procedure violations? Who is responsible for assembling and executing employment contracts? The HC? Hell no. The GM. I really don't care to debate about- if you don't see it cool. We can just agree to disagree on this point.

JRob's drafting and FA'ing past few years cumulatively producing on the field results. He still had a few really big swing and misses but no denying the on the field results. And yes, Vrabel is a LARGE part of it- but have to give credit to JRob for dumping Mularkey and bringing Vrabel in.
Status upgrade:
slightly above average => very good :toast:
Hmmm…. Lol
JRob isn't Elite
Until moves are made to make this team Elite consistently, he won't or shouldn't be considered Elite...imo

I think for coordinators and even position coaches, when a GM hires a HC, it’s on the condition that many of the coaching staff are part of the HC’s choice. You’re not going to get a lot of HC candidates and certainly not quality if the franchise doesn’t allow some of the assistant coaches to be selected by the HC.
As far as the physical contract, I think that has to go through the GM.

agreed... having a competent professional GM feels elite to Titan fans... which is pretty real patheticHey Man U keep lovin’ JRob as elite. He’s slightly above average GM. We can

The head coach chooses the assistants. You are way off. A head coach assembles his staff.
most do... and clearly established HCs doThe head coach chooses the assistants. You are way off. A head coach assembles his staff.
Mularkey was forced to retain holdover staff IIRC
JRob is a smart guy. He has a good pulse for the team. Always has. Last offseason what were our weaknesses? Pass rush and secondary. That was a strength this year.
Let’s see what he does this off-season.

Kicker been a negative since robinson c*nt punted Succup out the door a few seasons ago
Look guys- chooses and "responsible" for are two completely different things. I really shouldn't have to keep explaining it. The GM is responsible for all the contract hiring/firing etc. This shapes how/who he will allow the coach to go with. The HC does NOT have cart blanche say over who is hired. The GM ultimately signs off on every personnel hire. Another way of saying it- Vrabel can't veto a choice who he does or doesn't want- but the GM can. Ultimately- that's a bad idea but it is the GM's "RESPONSIBILITY" for the hiring firing, employment agreements of all team personnel. And if the team he has assembled does well, he gets credit. If it doesn't, then he gets the heat. That's why a strong GM-HC is crucial. That's why GM's are fired when a team doesn't do well over a couple of coaches. It's not the other way around, unless a GM elects to retire. Either you get what I'm saying or you don't. It's not an important point for me to clarify any further. The head coach chooses the assistants. You are way off. A head coach assembles his staff.
easy- that doesn't line up well with his argument.Kicker been a negative since robinson c*nt punted Succup out the door a few seasons ago

Bullock was fine this year. Won us some games even.
But we have to get a guy who can kick the ball to the end zone. Bengals had great field position all night because of that and turnovers

Being elite doesn’t mean your team is flawless. Having a pulse for the team doesn’t mean every move you make will strike gold either.

Maybe you should remember what you said then.
GM hires the OC.
Tannehill his QB
OL woes on JRob with his drafting.
JRob does not HIRE the OC. That’s Vrabel.
Maybe, we should actually draft a kicker. Look how it worked out for the Bengals.
No draft picks after taking star QBs from Hawaii with our 6th rounders,Maybe, we should actually draft a kicker. Look how it worked out for the Bengals.
Seriously, I agree and I saw a lot of other posters here saying the same thing during the draft/all conversations about the draft.
