CBS Sportsline is saying that the Bears are refusing to re-do his deal....

8 picks in year 2? He has great talent. Bears are dumb not to try and keep him. Small or not he gets in the right place at the right time.

I second that. I wonder what he is worth.
They are refusing to renegotiate a contract he still has years on, they are under no pressure to let him go.
i think he's strictly a cover two corner. not really someone you want to match up one on one.

13 in 2 years of NFL. Not bad.
What are you guys talking about?
He's still under contract for 2 more years. The 2004 4th rd pick wants to get more money now that he has made a pro bowl. How does that make him available? No way the bears let that guy go!
Of course the guy left voluntary off season conditioning for 8 days to make a point which makes you wonder about him and his agent. Too bad he signed a 4 year deal as a 4th rd pick.
Welcome to the nfl mr vasser the bears are not going to hand you pro bowl money after one good season.

He might be, but we have been playing an awful lot of cover 2 it seems. That said, as much as I dont think it would happen. Once the big paydays come around Vasser will be in campbigtitan53279 said:i think he's strictly a cover two corner. not really someone you want to match up one on one.
Vasser not available...
Vasser has not left camp. He simply didn't show up for 8 days of voluntary conditioning. It's nothing. He's a pro bowl player who is tired of making micheal waddell money and wants to start making samari rolle money. The bears have him for 2 more years cheap so why should they be in any hurry to give him a raise? My guess is that they will try to lock him up long term if he plays well in 2006.

Too bad...
In the 2004 draft we took 2 corners in rd 3 and 4. Gardner in rd 3 with pick 92. Waddell with pick 124 in rd 4. The bears got more value with vasser in pick 110 than we got with both our picks combined. We also took bo schobel early in rd 4.
2004 draft
pick 92-gardner
pick 103-bo schobel
pick 110 bears-vasser
pick 124 waddell
:sad2:

Vasher ain't leaving Chicago.
Al Harris is doing the same thing in Green Bay....he ain't going nowhere.
Both of these players are locked in under cap-friendly contracts where the team has all the leverage. Unless the team does something really, really stupid (locking the players out of training camp, for example), the players have no recourse whatsoever....they either play, or they don't get paid, and the team retains their rights for another year.

Man RollTide, those 4 picks look shocking compared to other teams, but hey, they still might prove something............
