It wouldn’t surprise me at all if NFL plays games with no crowds. The tv ratings would be huge for them and the tv contracts are the main revenue drivers

clearly the Titans give zero shyts how many home fans attend...

they pay lip service to it but IMO perfer the visiting fans...

they fill up the hotels and bars unlike most local fans

Nah.. They'd lose 50% of TV viewership if there's no crowd.
Why would they lose 50%viewership? If no one can go to the games, wouldn't they watch on TV? So therefore, viewership would go up. I personally hope they give Sunday ticket for free as long as we can't go to the games lol

Because watching games without a crowd would be like practice.

The game would just be awful without the fans in the stands. No homefield advantage etc etc.

NFL Owners would rather fans come to the games any day of the week.

"Viewership would go up" Viewership means nothing on the NFL Sunday Ticket. Therefore, there's no way they would give it away for free. It's that monthly payment that draws the revenue, not via commercials. I have the Ticket. What do I do when a commercial break comes on? I turn to another game. I can't even remember the last time I watched a commercial on the Sunday Ticket.

Take Sunday ticket out of the equation. The football fans that love the game won't care about fans being there. Football is football. If we can't go to games, we wil just watch on TV so viewership would be up.

I don't know about that. Only the true fans would be able to fork up watching games without a crowd. There's no doubt I would watch it, but I can't see the casual fan watching football without a crowd.

People that already watch football will most definitely keep watching. It's nice hearing the crowd but the game won't change because of fans not being there.

What? I'll definitely still watch. I kind of like the idea of hearing the players and louder hits. I don't care one bit about the crowd noise.

Then you would love the XFL.

Just because you like the idea of hearing the players and no crowd noise, doesn't mean the casual fan does.

You have tons of fans that only go to games in person, but wouldn't watch the game on TV.

Look, I'm with you guys. I love NFL football and would watch it if it was played on Mars or Pluto, but I'm saying viewership would not go up if they played games with no crowd.

While you might be right and there are some people who wouldn't watch, I would bet that viewership goes up if this happened. '

Watch games with friends, you can be your own crowd noise.

There were fans that were bored watching games that were played in London because you would have teams like the Jags playing the Chargers, but there were 60,000 fans wearing jerseys of every team.

Why were fans here in the US bored? Because the fans weren't into the game.

A lot of times teams/players feed off the crowd.

Maybe I'm in the minority on here as far as my views go to a crowdless game, but I just don't see how viewership goes up from this.

The backlash of fans that were irrate over the NCAA tournament being played without a crowd was off the charts.
