Why don't you ask Brad Kassell over Ray Lewis?
How about Drew Bennett over Terrell Owens?

Last time I checked, Peyton Manning hadnt murdered anyone. Or been suspended by his team for being a derelict.

Is Manning a saint? Hell no, the guy definately has a few minor skeletons in his closet, but he doesnt come with nearly the baggage that Ray Ray or TO would.

This has to be one of the dumbest threads I've seen on any message board.....

The only dumb thing about this thread is that there is a very large number of people on this site who've picked Vince Young. This is like a Wonderlic, I'm helping all of you guys sort through the retards on this board.:banned:

I would take a playmaker with tons of athletic ability and young talent, then a guy who never seems to go the distance with a brilliant team behind him. Vince has proven he can win in the big time, has Peyton? There may have been less presure on Vince Young when he won the championship, but he can do it.

Besides :coltssuk: and Peyton Manning is a :cuss:

I picked Vince Young
#1 Manning will choke, always has, always will. I would want a championship
#2 Vince is an amazing(but raw) talent.
#3 Vince can run, Peyton can't. I like running QBs

No its not the matter of retards on the board, it's people who have a different matter of an opinion and would rather take the potential of a young big game winner compared to a game that simply chokes. Thats it, it's not that I hate Manning, because truthfully I would on;y take one QB in the league right now and that would be Brady.

It looks as if you think half of us are retards then because the Vince Young lobby is trailing by one vote with ten to the Manning vote who has eleven...
Oh yeah, :super: Peyton has a one vote lead and one of the most intelligent members :super: already wants to change his vote because the :coltssuk: You want to talk about retarded numbers? How about the large number of people who have viewed this thread and chose not to vote at all because you would have to be retarded to start this topic or participate in it. I'm willing to bet more people have declined to vote than the 22 that have.
What the hell kind of reply is this in post #3?
I'm trying to configure my ignore list, in absolutely NO WAY, should anyone pick a rookie QB over one of the best passers of the last 30 years, even if he's a Colt.
That's the first thing I read before I cast a vote in the poll? It's your poll and you're not even trying to pretend to be impartial at all. Why don't you make a poll that says...Agree with me and I'll think you are cool or oppose me and I'll call you a retard? :brow:

BiPolar, I'll give you credit, it took 25 posts for someone to finally address the aforementioned post about configuring my ignore list. As far as that goes, you don't necessarily have to agree with me, but as with all opinions, if yours deviates from the norm than there will be much room for disagreement. The reason I made that statement was because it seems SO obvious that many people on this board would rather hate on someone that plays for an opposing team, and vote against them out of SPITE, then clearly have a better player at the helm. Now, I will agree with you, Manning hasn't won the BIG GAME yet, but neither did Marino or Jim Kelly or tons of other guys. But you are saying that you would rather have Randall Cunningham over Dan Marino, and that is just flat-out absurd, and you're only basis is that you HATE the Colts and you've conditioned yourself to hate Manning too. I have some dislike for Manning, because he is our biggest rival playing for the Colts, but I watch him and say, "damn, this dude's good." Remember one thing, he gets beat by better teams, not worse teams, call it choking all you want, but we never beat New England in our prime or Pittsburgh either, so McNair is a choker too, by this premise.

To me, to say that you would rather put the hopes and dreams of the franchise in the hands of an unproven rookie instead of those of a proven hall of fame QB, is just absurd.

Peyton 13 votes 54.17%
Vince 11 votes 45.83%

Ok...I'm in the minority now? I'm fine with being in the minority.

I don't want credit for adressing your aforementioned post because honestly it is my habit to deviate from the quote "norm" un-quote. The "norm" that you speak of is traditionalist and overly conservative, unimaginative mularkey. This is just a question of what I'd rather see... What is the fun in going along with the crowd anyways? Nobody ever remembers someone for what they agree with. People remember where differences present themselves. Talking about something from a different point of view that does not necessarily adhear to who you are talking with is actually interesting. This thread, and your posts in it in particular are in reality discouraging dialog about the topic by virtue of presenting the notion that whomever does not see it the way you do is clearly wrong and shall be deemed unfit for posting on the message board itself for dissenting opion (45.83% mind you, that's 50% if you count Starkiller)
To me, to say that you would rather put the hopes and dreams of the franchise in the hands of an unproven rookie instead of those of a proven hall of fame QB, is just absurd.
It's draft time 1998... You are the Indianaplois Colts...
Do you take Steve Young, Brett Farve, Jeff George, Warren Moon, Dan Marino, Drew Bledsoe or do you draft some nobody named Peyton Manning?

Tommy Maddox?? Thanks...In a game that counted please SEC, I expect more from you.
Joe Nedney kicked a 26-yard field goal 2:15 into overtime, giving the Tennessee Titans a dramatic 34-31 AFC divisional playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

How much does a home divisional playoff game count for these days???

gee...that's funny...seems that is what PEYTON just LOST last month against that very team? Regular season doesn't count? That's all Peyton has been good for his entire career.

Tommy Maddox was the hype of the NFL that year and we beat that playoff bound team fair and square. Don't cheapen your own teams win because you'd rather see Peyton Manning in columbia blue. If I'm retarded you are just a "have not".

don't get your feelings hurt over this... I'm having fun with it.:winker:

I take Dan Marino. And I thought that Starkiller was joking going back to the point that he couldn't believe he voted for someone who plays for the Colts.

Forgot about that win against the Steelers on the "let's give Nedney another shot at it" field goal. You got me on that one, but it's not that I want to see Peyton in blue, if I was any team, I would rather start my franchise around a Peyton rather than a Vince Young.

I was joking about changing my vote. No one should seriously want Vince Young as their QB if they can have Peyton instead. I'm still going to have to wash my hands after saying something nice about Peyton, mind you.

This poll is a joke. I don't mean that as an insult, merely that if you try to take it seriously it's worthless...

You can say that about any game. Why not mention that Peyton couldn't win this year despite the refs doing everything in their power to help him out ?

It's a copout. =(
