It’s very possible my own autoimmune issues are from his exposures in war.
That’s why I held off to get the shot until forced. At the time people scoffed “like you’d win a lawsuit” but here we are, people winning lawsuits left and right.
I don’t really have anything to sue for currently. With no side affects at this time, it’s hard to argue the shot did anything negative. I know it doesn’t seem to have done anything positive either.
and technically coast gaurd is a different service. Used to be part of the DoT until Homeland Security was created, then they fall under that, not National Defense.
They do get called upon to work under the Defense umbrella though.

My father in law was exposed as well in Vietnam, even had test done and to this day he has it in his body. The government still wouldn't give him his disability payments. He use to paint before the war after he came back he developed a tick of sorts couldn't draw or paint anymore. He passed this tick, some kind fine motor recruitment within in the brain to 2 of his 3 kids including my wife. She said as a child her and her brother went to many specialists and they don't "know" what is causing it. For as long as I've known my FIL I've come to the conclusion that Vietnam vets get treated differently for sure. My grandfather was in WW2 it's night and day the care and help he got.
