Derrick Henry, our best player, maybe the best pure rusher of all time. Coming off one of the most historic rushing seasons in NFL history.

All is well, until it's not anymore.

Every back who has ever hit 2k has had a very steep decline the next season, given this history, the fact that Henry has led the league in carries the past 2 seasons+playoff carries, and the physical nature of his game. Are the wheels primed to fall off?

And if they do, then what? Our passing game will likely take a step backward already, if we don't have Henry taking the attention off our receivers and making our play action lethal, what does this offense look like?

Even if it's not this year, Henry's days of being an absolute workhorse are limited and it seems like there's no contingency plan.

We have Evans and McNichols(?), who no one is going to be scared off, and one great wr coming off a double knee surgery.

Was a 2k season and a Wildcard exit worth shortening Henry/our window? Or will we finally transition into a modern offense and learn that a good passing attack is the key to a superbowl?

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!

Seriously how many of these types of posts are we going to see? If his wheels fall off this year than we made a terrible choice to pay the man a long term deal. But we made are choice and virtually everyone hear thought it was good call. It is what it is now. If a bad decision it will hurt the team, but not much you can do about it now.

We've been spoiled by Henry as our RB. It feels so damn good knowing he can go for 90 yards anytime he touches the ball. It's going to be a sad day for us when he's no longer a Titan or isn't as exciting as a RB for us anymore.

We should've drafted Jonathan Taylor or DeAndre Swift last season with our first round pick (instead we got Fat Albert) to prolong Henry's prime, while giving us a nasty 2 headed monster.

This is why hiring Todd Downing hurts, because when you have a RB like Henry we need to be more creative so that we can prolong his career with us.

I still say we have 2 or 3 GREAT years with Henry. Even if he can't go for that 90 yard run, he damn sure will get a 10 yard run with ease. So Henry will be valuable to us even after his prime is up (if he's still with us).

I'm not saying it will happen, but we have to at least acknowledge that it's in the realm of possibilities and if it does happen, we're likely in a world of hurt.

I more so wanted to see what people hope for after Henry's rule is done. Do we try to get another freak in the backfield and zig while everyone else zags? Or do we go with the trends and build a pass heavy offense, and worry about pounding the rock later?

I'd like to see us modernize.

Henry’s contract is really good. Another good job by Robinson. Of Henry falls off a cliff next season he can be cut relatively cheaply. If he is still producing it’s a good deal.

For the future I wouldn’t go to sleep on Evans yet either, Remember some thinking Henry was a bust the first 2.5 years playing behind Murray, I trust the system.

Yep, swift would've been a great #2 for Henry, and would've allowed us to change up looks, as well as lighten Henry's load a bit. But at least we have Evans? Lol hopefully he shows us something when he's healthy this season.

This is true, Henry's contract is pretty team friendly. But it still remains that as of right now without an elite Henry, we're likely a bottom 10 offense.

I agree. Swift is an every down RB that can run between the tackles. I'm not sure Evans is that type of RB. Evans reminds me of Jerious Norwood, which isn't a bad thing. Just don't know he can get that 3rd and 1 up the middle.

Yup, if Henry went down I would definitely rather taylor/swift shouldering the load rather than Evans. Although Evans is a freak on Madden for some reason lol

I'll give Evans a chance though. There was one run last season where I was blown away with what he is capable of doing.

HUH? What is your definition of elite?

You realize that Tannehill had a great year and is a top 10 at worst QB in the league, AJ Brown is an elite WR1 right?

Tannehill threw for almost 4000 yards.

I think bottom 10 is silly. Average to slightly above is more likely.

Henry will be fine for 2, 3, maybe 4 more years..Evans still an unknown but I like the effort he showed

I would sign Duke Johnson, cheap, catches well and could provide a breather

I never said tannehill didn't have a great season, or that AJ brown isn't elite, stop putting words in my mouth to start an argument.

The fact is it remains to be seen what this offense looks like without Henry, or even with a less effective Henry. And based off of what we saw with Tanne in Miami we're likely closer to bottom 10 than top 10.

Evans is our best kept secret. No wear on those legs last year. You will see more Evans this season.

I hope so, because I would rather see Evans/McNichols or Foreman get the load of carries first half of the season and then let Henry loose the second half of the season. No need stat padding anymore when it comes to Henry. Use him wisely the first half of the season (if the record and play of other starters gives us the opportunity).

The only thing that will make Henry's game decline is contigent of who our #2 WR and #1 TE will be.

On paper Corey Davis, Jonnu Smith and Adam Hump is more than enough to keep 8 men out the box.

If all 3 are gone, then it could be a pretty basic year for Henry. Let's hope we can address those positions. It shouldn't be that hard either.

This is true. But there is nothing we can do about that this year. We have to count on Henry and try to improve the team in other ways. If he bombs this year it will be a long year. The next year we can try to cut him and figure it out. But there is just nothing we can do now. That is why I reacted negatively. Sorry for being an ass in my first post. This just seems like an issue we can’t address now.

Without Henry, Tannehill would likely regress. I think that is his point.

RBs are available every draft. I wouldn't write off Evans.

Yes. Which I just flatly disagree with. I think Henry benefits from THill. Defense have to respect the ability to throw it down field. Mariota didn’t, so defenses stacked the line.

Bottom 10 offense is silly.
