Haven't listened to this in a while. Damn! Can it be SEVEN years since this came out? Funny, nasty, tragic, but always funky; Stankonia stills kicks ***.
Just looked for a video for Gasoline Alley... amazingly there isn't one, but I did watch the vid for BOB. If you watch carefully there's a kid with an EG jersey shown briefly running with Andre (so yes... Stankonia is indeed seven years old).

Nina Simone is an odd bird. I love most of her music. It's a really unique blend of influences. She was a child savant and was one of the first black female children to study classical piano at Julliard, and that classical piano style is always very evident in her music. She's the type of person who whether you like what she's saying or not, always seems genuine, never pandering for popularity.
