It was the right call. They are going to call that every single time
The issue is, if your top priority is "player safety" but at the same time allow an offensive player to keep fighting after his progress is stopped for 4-5 seconds...you can't get mad when a player comes in to put a stop to that fighting. You can't have it both ways. If an offensive lineman would have came up and pushed the ball with the same force as Simmons just did, there wouldn't have been a call. The refs have to blow the whistle earlier if they feel the progress has stopped.
That was also over a decade ago. Not the same NFL in case you hadnt picked up on thatremember 3 stoolers picking up Young and doing a body slam on him... NO CALL
The football is good, but everything else about the game is awful. The announcing, the officiating, the field that is going to make me go blind....
Your right at this point just play two hand touch football. The issue is, if your top priority is "player safety" but at the same time allow an offensive player to keep fighting after his progress is stopped for 4-5 seconds...you can't get mad when a player comes in to put a stop to that fighting. Good pressure there.
My word I feel like there is going to be a flag on every play for some reason.

Hey, if you want to call those kind of penalties...I'd like to see some come our way a 'bit when we're on offense.
Another 3rd and long stopped for a loss. Another penalty to give the Colts a first down.
When he sees a rb freeze in his tracks , he could at least look back to see if he can intercept it, or at least defend it.There's just no way a DB can look back. It's not like they know the ball is coming at them.
