Don’t know why the forum has been shut down, but this is a great hire I think.
We have made some good additions to the coaching staff. Whatever anyone thinks of the Kelly promotion, we have definitely surrounded him with good coaches.

Jeff said the server crashed with all the positive posts coming in for Kelly.

So we moved our successful RB coach to TE, then hire a previous TE coach with no RB experience whatsoever to be our RB coach?

Yep, we are stacked to continue promoting from within after Kelly is gone.
Not a bad way to do it actually. Succession planning is a good thing. But we will all forget that when the OC job opens again.... lol
I'm more and more convinced that position coaches really don't matter at all. If they can go from TE to QB to OL coach etc etc overnight.
How much do they really know about each position?
They're obviously not specialist at X position if all of it is so interchangable.

Not a bad way to do it if you’re already having success. We aren’t and never have on offense. Art was the best and he wasn’t even close to being one of the best in the league.Yep, we are stacked to continue promoting from within after Kelly is gone.

Our O was elite in 2020. But yeah overall you're rightNot a bad way to do it if you’re already having success. We aren’t and never have on offense. Art was the best and he wasn’t even close to being one of the best in the league.

You don't coach Henry...Henry coaches youHenry doesn’t need a coach
Because Henry was running all over everyone. Not because of a stellar systemOur O was elite in 2020. But yeah overall you're right

True.
The alternative seems to be go out and find a really strong young OC and watch him leave for a HC job next year. Repeat...
I guess an offense-minded HC who can mentor guys for succession fixes that, but we don't have that right now.
No you can find a guy that was an excellent OC and already failed as a HC.True.

Yeah, maybe. Did you have anyone in mind?
Nagy out of the names we were connected to.Yeah, maybe. Did you have anyone in mind?
The redzone offense was historically efficient, had two receivers near/at 1000 yards, tanne had a 4.7/1 TD to int ratio. The year after sans art with the same weapons we watched henry lose a full yard per carry and the O fall apart. It was absolutely a stellar season, not just henry running wild.Because Henry was running all over everyone. Not because of a stellar system

We requested the interview according to reports. I wonder why we couldn't/didn't get him.
